Sorry mate, don't actually have one, but I've read the dual core outperforms the quad core because of bandwidth limits, on some projects.
However, overall, I believe you save more $ in watts with the quad core.
Anybody using these on SOB ?
What clocks you running them at ?
Problems ?
IB
I meant Q not E silly me :blush
Got 2 of them coming Saturday delivery hopefully.
Somehow though i have doubts that the courier will actually turn up.
ah, in that case...
Mine is at 2.9Ghz right now. It's been up to 3.2 without too much trouble (slight voltage increase), but will occasionally lockup, so I keep it down at 2.9 on stock voltage.
If you get the G0 stepping, they are supposed to clock even better at lower temps too..
Bok
Should be the G0

I have 8 of them running SOB at stock speed of 2.4GHz, they are averaging 3.0 M cEMs/sec.
-:Beyond:-
I have gotten from 1000000 to 3800000 per core depending in motherboard
Thanks for the info.
I'll try and pair them up with good MB's.
Beyond what chipset you using P35 ?
A good cheap MB is a ECS G31T-M I get 3,800,000 per core in SOB with that one. The chipset is a G31
Well they actuslly arrived at 9am
Time to play
None right now Carlos
At the moment i am stability testing.
Want to make sure they can run 24/7 at 100% CPU.
Mine is stable at 2.9GHz....70C full load with 4 instances of LLR.
I can give you some benchs of mine only with offline DC projects such as Dnet, DPAD, LLR, RieselSieve, etc...
I'm noticing how easy it is to get em really hot.
Just got the stock HSF at the moment.
Thing is they overclock really well, 3600mhz no problem with a bump up on the vcore.
However when you load up the clients they thermal throttle so all that extra mhz is wasted.
Sticking to 3.2 at 1.3v core till i get some better heatsinks on em
Keeps the temps low enough not to throttle.
I do have a tuniq 120 in my gaming PC, works really well.
PITA to fit though.
Might get some more for the quads.
I have a Thermalright Ultra 120 Extreme and like it, was best in a test at Sweclokers recently, 6 heatpipes..
Haven't tried SOB but Prime95 is really dragging it's legs behind when using 3 or 4 cores.
There's a fan, look here
It's not hot when I'm using the original heatsink. You can go up to 80C. So what's the best cooler for the quad-core?
Carlos
Decided to put one of the quads in my gaming PC, so i have to take the MB out to get that dam tuniq fitted.
Not sure a gaming PC really needs a quad
Maybe i can run a client on the GTX's
Dont F@H do a GPU client. ?
ATI X1900 class only

Pretty expensive GPU to have run wide open, not to mention potential heat problems.
You would be better off getting a PS3
The 8800's would roast in no time and then i would be very sad
PCZ,
I bought a new cooler, the Arctic Cooling Freezer Pro 7, as you mentioned to be good in another thread. I'm really excited, it's a very good cooler. Thank you!!!
Edit:
Running 4 instances of LLR:
Q6600@2.8GHz - max temp at 72 ºC (standard cooler)
Q6600@3.0GHz - max temp at 60 ºC (new cooler)
Carlos
