Thanks. Just dipping my toe in at the moment, seeing what's what. Short work units are sometimes a nice breather after a few weeks of 10 hour Rosetta work units.
It seems they support FreeBSD which is good for me.
Hey, alpha! Welcome to MilkyWay. The project is a little flakey. I sometimes think it's entirely a student learning project, rather than a serious effort to make science, but they've cleaned up their act a bit lately.
Just remember, it IS a beta project, so it's a bit bumpy at times. Good crunching!

Yup. It's a project I've crunched between others, as well. Running smoother right now than it did. I may throw some stuff at it before going back to Rosetta.

I'm hoping to do a short run on POEM@home before going back to Rosetta. Ars are doing a one week "challenge" on it at the moment and are #2 vs. our #22
Hmmm. I might look at doing something on POEM after a bit. Right now, I'm just resting from Proteins@home. It's like swimming uphill. Very low credit per hour worked. Frustrating. Takes forever to make progress, esp. when you get up around the 100th place overall level.
Milkyway, OTOH, has just adjusted their credits upward to where it's a much better deal than it was previously. IronBits & I were working on it a while ago & got disgusted over the frequent crashes & low credits. It LOOKS as though they've got their act together for a change. If so, I might just park here for a while. When the crunch starts at Rosetta, I plan to move over there.
