Well another Q6600 MB burned out today so I thought I would try this
I must say cutting a piece of tape that small is not easy
I will get a new MB tomorrow and see if it works

You don't have to use tape.
    Nail varnish works as well.
Epoxy glue works also and is better it just takes a while to set.

I have doubts about the long term viabilty of this with the ECS MB's though.
A quad at 3Ghz running DC 24/7 will burn out the carp voltage regulators on those boards.

Also 3Ghz is the maximum you can run with the standard heatsink.
Heat becomes a problem with 100% duty cycle and the chips throttle down.

Tape was done already and I was not sure how well this would work So I wanted it undo ready
As for the HEAT I got a TL 4 tube heat sink It keeps the heat at about 54 C running at 2.7 Ghz
That would be 30 to 35 C less them a OEM Heat sink at the same speed

Ya I know about ESC I have Burned 5 MB in the past 2 months. When I can't get any more Free replacements I will get better boards
