Sample Size : 885 structures over 3922 seconds.
    Protein Size: 129AA

    Structures Per Second: 0.23
    Structures Per Minute: 13.6
    Structures Per Hour : 817

Very initial benchmarks. This same box ran about .3 something on the 105aa protien. I should have better numbers for you all later (from a couple of OCd XP1800s, etc.)

Can we go ahead and get the thread stickied?

Exclamation Re: Benchmarks for new Protein 129aa

This is funny! My dfGUI v1.9 will not write a benchmark! I am using W2K on an XP 1900.

In fact . . .my dfGUI v1.9 will not even do the syuff it does on my Win98 se boxes. It just doesn't wanna work right with W2K for me.

Very strange. I use it on Win2k all the time and no problems for me. Do you have permissions set up properly? ie: is the user you are logged in with an Admin or a regular user that may not have the correct permission to write to that directory or something?

What kind of stuff doesn't it do? When you say it won't write a benchmark, you click on the button and no benchmark.txt file appears? Did you search your HD to see if it may have been written to a directory you weren't expecting?

Uh . . .is the benchmark for my XP1900 faster than that of my XP2200 because it is running W2K?

Are you running the same config options on both machines including priority and everything? I noticed you are using 999 at your # of structures. Did you know that it tells the DF client to use the default server setting (which right now is 5000)? If you want the smallest number of structures you need to set it to 1000.

Were you doing anything on the Win98 machine during the time the client was running that might have slowed it down? Your benchmark was also not run for very long and its possible that the Win98 machine had some slow structures (each time the DF client calculates a structure it takes a different amount of time).

All three machines are running with the same configurations. I just now changed the # of structores to 01000 instaed of 00999.

Uh . . .yeh . . .I was making some new webpages for hotsauce site, lol. I let the client run 3/4th of the way on each box before I took the benchmarks. I had to leave dfGUI open before I got the benchmarks because if I didn't the total was really small. I have noticed the past three days that the XP1900 does df better than the XP2200!

Hmm . . .maybe I should just put the XP2200 back on Seti?

Yeah, that is because it is dfGUI doing the actual benchmarking so if you close it, dfGUI can't keep track of how many structures you have generated in a certain amount of time. When you restart dfGUI again, it starts from zero.

Except for when I was benchmarking, I never have the GUI open! I try to keep my resource level as low as possible.
