I'll give Enigma@home a go support old Smelix.
Enigma@Home
Non-Boinc place holder
Leiden,Mindmodelling & Yoyo to get to 1M
Place holder for something else.
It's time to start thinking about what we are going to do for June.
I would like to nominate Enigma@Home
We have never made a Team push on this project, and I see our way up there at the top.
I'll create 4 choices to start with.
I'll give Enigma@home a go support old Smelix.
I like that one too.
Ah yes, Enigma. Can't believe it's still around! 2 of the 3 messages were cracked, but the 3rd still remains?!
I definitely am supporting this. Time to crack this last message once and for all!

Huh? I just got started on Poem. Oh you guys

I'm still waiting for my personal machine to get finished after rebuilding my 2 servers so I just need an I7 to get it finished. My output is non existent just nowbut will start coming on line soon.
But I know I did a lot of work on the original Enigma program and can't find any account info so this must be a later one. Anyway, I will be contributing some more to the effort but I have to finish my machine and rebuild 3 other old ones for the kids which will be adding to the efforts. All time tho' so don't hold your breath although I am now confined to the house so hopefully I can get some of my own work finished and get off this old laptop.
Like an ol` 8086, slow but serviceable.
One advantage of old age...nobody can tell you how much cake you can eat
I'm up for a bit of Enigma too.
Smelix has been far too quiet - lets go and wake him up
looks like vista issue
there IS a lot of work for enigma

What's the 2nd pick project then?
I think perhaps it's not just an OS issue?
My XP box wasn't getting work at the same time as IB was having problems, but sometime during the (PDT) night my work queue got filled.
There are also a number of optimized apps flying around for that project. It might be worthwhile posting over there to find out what works and doesn't work, and which apps are "approved" by the project folks.
We could make a serious dent in their project if they could keep work flowing reliably for all the main OS types. This one has always intrigued me - maybe because of the Enigma machine itself. I like those kinds of gizmos.
WCG?
Any reports on if E@H works on Win7 yet? One of my rigs has it on it and I'm wondering about compatibility...

Rebranded or not, I like Win7 better. It just seems to work better and run faster than Vista. Thanks!

Just to get us higher in this list where we languish in 12th...
I'm working on Malaria Control right now. Should finish that off within a few days. Quite a few others could be easily attained. Should we add those to POTM for June for a combined effort ?
Leiden, MindModelling, Yoyo@Home (you don't have to do the OGR client, just switch it off in preferences).
Would mean people could then choose a few of them..
Just my thoughts

I'm quite happy with Enigma for a one off tho' I prefer 'useful' projects to just stats whoring nowadays. It should get my new I7 a workout when I get it running next week on the new Win7 RC. Been delayed with my desktop due to other commitments and cost of the new servers which are running a lot more comfortably with quads but I still won't be using them on DC as the load commitments can peak very rapidly and I can't allow them to be compromised. Must say tho', I'm very impressed with the new Asus workstation boards as both machines are running much more (sas) storageage than I could cope with previously and the extra ports coupled with a reasonably priced Adaptec 31205 pci-e setup have allowed a good and fast mix of sas and sata storeage. Anyway, not to get off topic too much and cut down the verbiage, another project is finished which should allow me to add some older desktops which are not in use much but rarely switched off to my minor powerbase as well plus mebbe a server on occasion and I'm mainly happy to push the team on a monthly project but as we've edited the poll, perhaps it should be reset to allow votes already used to be re-cast?
Wish I could keep my posting a bit shorter tho' and can't understand why I just can't cut the verbiage as I hate writing reports etc. Must be old age or senility creeping (galloping more like) in .

Ok so I'm all BOINC'ed up and processing Enigma, Leiden and GPUGrid. Can't do malaria as it isn't accepting signups.
cool.
I've just about got Malaria to 1M anyway...
Ok, Enigma @ Home is where we are at.

*sigh* Disappointing PoTm so far...

I guess the timing wasn't great, just when we start a push on Enigma DPC start a push on Genetic Life .
But, even at our pedestrian speed we are still going to take #6 spot in the next 12 days All we need are a a few more boxen and we will be making real progress towards #5!
As Death posted earlier, Enigma could run out of wus later on this year - we need to do as much as we can now while there is plenty of work.
A suggestion for July's PoTM is World Community Grid's Influenza project. That is very topical at this time, and results would go to help produce better antiviral drugs to help fight the flu (especially import during pandemics like now).
Looks like Lauren showed up a month late for the June POTM
I think he was just ribbing you Lauren. Calm down.

Maybe next year I will be ready to put AC in the garage
I did start a 4th 16 node tower to start to fill .
16x4=64 cores or 160Ghz per tower
When full I will have 640 Ghz of computer power
And that will require AC to coupe with the heat
Do have money to invest on a photovoltaic (PV) system? Is it sunny all year where you live?
I don't know the US price of electricity but here in Portugal it is more useful to sell the electricity you produce on the PV system and buy it again from the energy company. ROI of the PV systems are very high ( 20 years).
What about a windmill? Too windy where you live?

I will be dead way before it pays or it's cost here
