    Home boxes going off

With uncertainty on the job market and other issues at home I'm going to be powering off and probably getting rid of the extra crunching kit at home.

I've been sticking my head in the sand for a while now but I really can't afford the leccy bill any more.

I have a box or two at work but they will be running less and less as we virtualise our testing kit more.

From corp power to single boxer oh well, was good while it lasted.
Alas poor Borg, I knew it Horatio

    I feel your pain

Yeah its sad definitely. Back in the "good 'ol days" I had around
120 systems I was sneaking onto for my evil purposes, but I too was
ordered to toss them ALL and convert everything to vmware. I tried
actually launching boinc in a VMWare ESXi server, but the the kernel they use
could not report any of the info the client needed so it runs,
but doesnt crunch .. Guess its time to just get old quietly now

My bedroom has 60 old servers I am thinking of making into some kind of
    art. I'm not artistic though.

I understand you so much. I think your priority should be your life and not DC.
A few months ago I was unemployed and I had to shutdown the home boxes as well. It was very difficult to come back after finding a new job. The lucky thing about this job is that by Portuguese law the industries should make energy audits so I might have a life job, who knows....
