Microsoft's latest operating system Windows 7 has gone on sale in the UK almost three months ahead of schedule at massively reduces prices, it has emerged.
The software officially goes on sale to the general public on October 22, but Microsoft has released it early with prices starting from £49.99 for Windows Premium.
Early buyers will be able to snap up Windows 7 for a limited pre-sale period and will save up to £100 for the Premium package alone.

Wow, I had heard about pre-release sales, but I didn't think you could actually get the software until Oct. 22nd. So this stuff in the UK is on sale now and you can pick up and install the final RTM version?

I wonder if they will be doing this in North America?

The folks who signed up for the half price deal haven't got the software yet.
They have to wait until general release day.

They paid approx half price so that was the draw to get em paying up early.
    Deal is over now.
