    Windows 7 won't utilise 100% CPU

The resource metre is up and down like a whores drawers.

Back on XP and Vista it stuck at 100% solid.

    BOINC performance suffers.

Can't see anything to change anyone seen this, did a quick search but no hits.

Check your power options in Screen Saver, Change Power Settings, select High Performance. Personalize from there...

    #gopher@somewhere: update uctt
Updating Universal Computer Tweaking Tool aka "The Mallet"...
update successful should now work on Windows 7..
Windows Vista Users Please note: This will destroy your copy of windows vista and install Knoppix 6 instead you should notice a 1000% increase in available memory and processor availabilty. Okay so it's not as shiny and Games won't work but that's not what your meant to use this machine for....
Windows 7 Users Please note: This is still in beta (much like Windows 7) so may cause a few problems...

*hands the updated uctt to Fozzie*
    Enjoy..

    Tried

all combinations of all sett8ings in the BIOS and in Power control panel.

    Still no go.

Updated BIOS to the latest but it seem it is a dead end.

I cannot get Windows 7 to allow me to run the CPU at 100%.

I had this or similar but it depended on what DC prog I ran. Perf meter just seems to work faster than before. Try loading something that overloads your computer cpus and is multi threaded as you now get 2 threads per cpu core so you may not be actually running 100% every microsecond.
Like an ol` 8086, slow but serviceable.

Fozz, try pinging PCZ on this subject. He was the one, in another thread, who said 7 was running right for him. Maybe he knows something...

I have Windows 7 Pro 64bit running just fine, it will happily use 100% of the 4 cores when running any app like BOINC or other.

Sounds to me like it is more a power settings/CPU low power state thing that if you can't disable it in the BIOS, Windows might just do its own thing.

I have disabled it all in the BIOS.

It seems to run at 100% on Prime95, but when you look at the performance it is way down on what it should be it ran better on Win XP.
