    Benchmarks for the new engine

This one really is quite a bit faster!

    Code:
    ------------------------------------------------------------
Distributed Folding Linux Benchmark Script V1.0

Sample Size: 30010 structures over 9523 seconds.

    Structures Per Second: 3.15
    Structures Per Minute: 189.08
    Structures Per Hour: 11344.74
    Structures Per Day: 272273.76

Linux OS - Running Kernel Version 2.4.19
    AMD Athlon(tm) XP 1800+ @ 1532mhz (256 KB cache)
    ------------------------------------------------------------
I would have results on my other machine as well, but I realized it hasn't been running for the past week, ever since the power outage left a foldtrajlite.lock file intact in the directory. D'OH!!! It's updating as I post this, so I can get a bench soon.

The main machine (the XP1800+) was getting 1.43 per second and 123,500 per day on the old algorithm. Same switches (large buffers, use ram, and a couple of others that I don't remember off the bat). So about 2-2.5 times faster, wow.

CPU: AuthenticAMD AMD Athlon(tm) XP 2200+
    Client Switches: -df -qt -rt -i f -s 10000-p -2

I was getting 117 or so from the last protein.

    Ni!
Oh, what sad times are these when passing ruffians can say Ni at will to old ladies..

    As promised, the other CPU:

    Code:
    ------------------------------------------------------------
Distributed Folding Linux Benchmark Script V1.0

Sample Size: 115100 structures over 72080 seconds.

    Structures Per Second: 1.60
    Structures Per Minute: 95.81
    Structures Per Hour: 5748.61
    Structures Per Day: 137966.64

Linux OS - Running Kernel Version 2.4.19-pre8
Pentium III (Coppermine) @ 797mhz (256 KB cache)
    ------------------------------------------------------------
Again, about twice as fast, more or less.

Linux OS - Running Kernel Version 2.4.19
    Celeron (Mendocino) @ 495mhz (128 KB cache)
    ------------------------------------------------------------

    And the P3:
    ------------------------------------------------------------
Distributed Folding Linux Benchmark Script V1.0

Sample Size: 21425 structures over 22105 seconds.

    Structures Per Second: 0.97
    Structures Per Minute: 58.15
    Structures Per Hour: 3489.26
    Structures Per Day: 83742.24

Linux OS - Running Kernel Version 2.4.19
Pentium III (Katmai) @ 497mhz (512 KB cache)
    ------------------------------------------------------------

The duron ususally does better compared to the celerons (ie almost as much as the two of them) but i've been gaming a lot and such lately, so maybe that has something to do with it

    My fastest machine
Michelle, I'm sorry I lost your benchmark.jpg file!
I was trying to reduce the size of it. I had it down to 65KB from 228KB, but for some reason, it didn't take

    Michelle -

You should be getting better numbers than that. My XP2100 @ 1820 was doing that and a bit more. Make sure you check the "Quiet Mode" button in dfGUI. It'll help
