    New Protein is 96 AA

But when will the servers be back up?

This new protein is really fast.

When I connected to the server I clicked the download link. Then I couldn't connect again after I downloaded it. Now I can connect fine.

hmmm...you say it's fast? it seems it should be but I'm noticing it to be around 30% slower than the previous protein (4.3 strucs/sec against 2.8/sec)...

I am noticing it'll do the first ~200 (out of 5000) quickly then start to slow down...or is it just me

I'll leave it for the moment but probably re-install if it's still seems slow after a few more uploads...

i've noticed it seems a bit slower too. check on the Free-DC side of the forums, and we should have a benchmark thread going soon.

probably just has to do with the structure of the protein. some run into themselves more often and have to backtrack.

It is good to have some kind of confirmation. I didn't get to look at my farm last night because of a school board meeting. I can clearly see from the stats that either this one is 30% or so slower, or a signinficant part of the farm dropped dead on the switch-over. I'll check things out today after work, but I'm guessing that the switch was pretty successful.

This protein should be slower than the last, that's correct. Hopefully it'll give us enough time to start beta testing the new algorithm before this protein's through

Thanks for the info Howard. I'll be happy as long as it lasts two weeks or so. 'Cause that's about how long it's going to take me to pass you at these speeds .
