While not one of the k of supreme interest to SoB, I am happy that they found a prime, and absolutely blown away by their reported sieving statistics. Rock on, PrimeGrid!

To be fair, this prime was not found through PrimeGrid, though PrimeGrid certainly does their fair share of work for the project, both through sieving and LLR.

It was found through one of the PRPNet servers... http://www.mersenneforum.org/showthread.php?t=13574

as the 2nd highest weight k in PSP, it's likely to make the combined SoB/PSP sieve a little more efficient going forward - not by a lot, but every little bit helps...

I noticed that PrimeGrid's sieving datafile is now about 3 megabytes smaller.

On a secondary note, it seems as though the 40th Mersenne has been verified. It was down to one for months and as far as I can see on the Milestones page, it is now 0.
