I'm not usually one to nit-pic, but I'm about to nit-pic
Wouldn't it have been predicted by Hypothesis and once proven it became a part of a substantiated Theory?
I often find those two words are so confusing when talking in the past tense.
I think it was a Hypothesis and now it is part of a Theory.
ScienceNews usually pick their words more carefully.
Not detracting from this notable achievement.
