Thread: participant info

    participant info

I'm wondering if anyone has bothered to plot this info

Active users (working on current protein): 2491

if i remember correctly, at the end of the last protien, this number was under 2200 (although i could be wrong)

has anyone plotted this number over all the protiens done? if you take that number, on the LAST day of each protien, i think we could get a very nice sense of growth.

if nothing else, i'd be interested to see the number's anyway

The problem with doing this using third party stats is that we don't track anonymous users. In other words, I don't have a history for teamless users operating under the username 'None'. Without a history, I can't determine their activity status.

I do track the number of active 'named' users. This includes anyone using a name other than 'None', and anyone named 'None' who is also on a team. You can find a graph of this information on the project stats page.

Now, I could parse the numbers from the 'official' project stats page and use it as well. I'll take a look at that tonight. I hadn't considered it until just now because I use individual user stats as the basis for everything. Using the totals from the project page would be easy enough for this particular idea, though.

Zero producers are people that signed up and then never turned any work in. If you go to http://distributedfolding.org/teampages/team0.html and look at the bottom of the page you will see most of these people.

Inactive are people that have not turned in any units on the current protein. If you look at the numbers below you can see that on the 28th the protein changed and at one point only 26 people had turned in units on the new protein.

That is correct.. Thanks for getting that explaination out.. I have been hoping for some kind of participation stats for a while. That would be a very good way to show the world how many people are really into this thing.. and maybe then give people a few months to produce or else they get retired from the database!! We don't need all those people who never produced any structures hangin around forever.. Would be nice to clean up and see where we're really at...
