Awesome! 19th and climbing! You and Bigred are both outgunning me. I've got 10 cores going.

Looks like we ended up with #17. which I think is pretty good for just three of us.

Next challenge is from 5 to 13 May, The Riesel Problem (LLR) which once again is a CPU application.

I'm not exactly sure what you're looking for.

Ranking list for individuals for this challenge is here.

Ranking list for teams for this challenge is here.

Ranking list for individuals for the year is here.

Ranking list for teams for the year is here.

Seeing as how we completely missed the second challenge, if we want to move up the list for the year, we will need more help on the rest of the challenges this year.

    I can use this one

    or this one

    or this one.

I wouldn't use this one though.

Even considering your late start, you did the best on the team.
At least you tried which is more than I can say for most around here.

I just "found" eight more cores around here that I can throw at the next challenge. It's on my calendar!

The next challenge starts in less than two weeks (5 May).
It will be a TRP challenge and the WUs will take about 5-8 hours to complete. So, who's going to help the team with this?

You can count me in unless I have to depart on travel early. Travel should not interfere with the challenge unless moved up by more than a week.

Looks like it should be a pretty good turn out.

    Earth to Lauren.

I just want to make sure you know that this is a CPU subproject for this challenge. We wouldn't want a repeat of what happened last time.

OK so how does this one work
It starts on what 5/4/11? And to when
Does the D/L of the WU have to be After the start time or
Can we start early and buffer

Only WUs downloaded after May 4, 18:00 UTC will count toward the challenge. Also, WUs must be submitted before the end time of 18:00 UTC on May 13 in order to be counted toward the challenge.

I think it's best to set your PG preferences to TRP LLR only, and set the BOINC client to "No new tasks." Abort and flush any tasks in your queue. Then at 18:00 UTC, switch BOINC to "Allow new tasks" and hit "Update."

Then be sure to also flush all completed WUs before the deadline at 18:00 UTC on May 13th.

Now that it's warming up where I live, I'm taking down my GPU rig for the summer. I will resurrect it in June for the 24 hour CW Sieve Challenge, though!

This will work fine if you only have a few boxes but I think Lauren needs a different approach. Two possible solutions are:

    1. Attach to PG ahead of time and set resource share to 0. Make sure that only TRP is checked and only use CPU is checked. At the start set the resource share to something like 10,000 and do a project update on all computers.

    2. Go ahead and attach and set the keep work for additional days to 0. You should only have 1 WU per core and when it is done it is replaced. Not the most elegant solution but it's what I use.

If my math is right, 1800 UTC should be 11am Chicago time.

    Update.

My math in the previous message was wrong.

    1800 UTC is 1300 CDT.

For anybody that needs to convert time for where they live, here is a handy converter.

I've been running some test WUs and they are taking 20 - 21 hours on a Q6600.

I found this one but I don't know anything about it.

Just over 12 hours to go before the start.

I use Teamviewer for remote access. It's cross-platform, like traditional VNC, and also has an Android app. And all free!

I've got my main 14 cores all lined up and ready to go. I'm hoping to bring four more on by this evening (but I forgot to leave my computer at home powered on so I could configure it from work ).

That's one thing I still need to get working, Remote WakeOnLan for my home network. I've downloaded the Depicus Android app, but I haven't set it all up or tested it.

I'm all set. I have a few pps_sieve tasks running on the GPU, but since this is cpu-only, I will be all set and starting at 1400 EDT (allow new tasks).

Please advise if we have a different team plan via direct email or pm.

Don't worry, the PPS_Sieve tasks were already in the queue. My preferences are set to TRP only.

    Tnx,
    C

I've got over 2000 points sitting in the 'pending credit' queue with credit only given for 2 WUs so far. What gives?

Yeah, I've got >4000 units in pending credit. I think it's just that the validator gets overwhelmed during these challenges.

But don't worry--as long as the completed WU was uploaded before the challenge deadline, the credit will be awarded. It will take the validator some time after the challenge is over to work through all of the WUs. The final results will be accurate, though.

Also, I've "found" two more cores here, and put them online for the challenge. They are taking ~15 hours per WU, but every little bit helps!

    Code:
    14	Ars Technica	325931.94
    15	Free-DC 304233.20

We are again in striking distance from Ars Technica. This time I think we have the horsepower to beat them. Especially with Laurenu2 out front!!

    We've slipped back to 14th.

But still that is better than most of the other teams.

    Just about half way done.

    wow. this is sad.

I'm pushing 5 out every 11 hours (average).... I know it's not much, but it sure doesn't help when they sit in 'pending credit'.

Suggestions? (like break out the Opteron 250's & turn up the A/C ? )

PS: at least we are still ahead of ARS... now to take Navy down... true?

Don't worry- that pending credit will all tally for you and for Free-DC in the end. They are just WUs waiting for a quorum of other results for validation checking.

15th looks pretty solid. Navy is 250,000 ahead, and Ars don't seem to be gaining any ground on us.

Make sure you flush all completed WUs prior to the deadline Friday! That can make a big difference in your challenge score. If the WU is completed before the deadline, but isn't reported and uploaded before the deadline, it won't count toward the challenge (just toward your regular stats).

In the BOINC client (Advanced View), just select "PrimeGrid" on the "Projects" tab, and hit the "Update" button. The server will be called and all 100% finished WUs will be reported & uploaded.
