    Rollin Rollin Rollin...

Well guys/gals of OGR-25, we as a team are rolling up the ranks ever so quickly. As of this post, we are at Rank 796.

So, a cold one for everybody on the Team. As always, IB will be buying the rounds.

With the complimentary boozing out of the way, I would like to give a pat on the back to those listed below:

    rus6 3,853
    ECL 579
    Nitrousine 1,686
    THE-MK 2,289
    alpha 260
    Beyond 10,637
    IronBits 2,044
    guru 2,292
    Robert Shepard 1,564

It seems that some of you have returned to this Project in the hopes of bringing Free-DC to the Top 100. Welcome aboard and may you all continue to crunch!

And for the regulars, Rock on

I should hang my head in shame for having zero output yesterday and minimal the day before (damn parties ). I'll have to find a way to make up for it

Yes, I did notice you sneaking up behind me - a lot of people seem to be doing this to me lately. I thought I had secured a nice high position. Resistance is futile

    Yeah!

I just want to give everybody a pat on the back for a job well done in this Project.

As of right now, we are at No. 702 as a Team.

Special thanks to Beyond for his awesome production for the past few days and also welcoming our newest cruncher, Condor to the playground.

At this rate, I think we will be able to take Top 100 in less than one month! Keep it up guys

As of the current stats update, Team Free-DC is now at position No. 536.

So our goal of Top 100 is achievable and very real in the near future.

Keep it up guys! We are making hell of a Team

    magnav0x,

    Thanks bro

During this slow-ass Protein in DF I might just kick everything over to OGR and do some rolling

And there are two new faces in the stats: Chinasaur and stibnite@yahoo.com!
Welcome! New faces bringing us much earlier to top 100

 Look at Condor and guru go! Burning up the ranks as their start their march up the ladder. I have a bad feeling that Condor will run me over pretty soon!

Currently the Team is ranked at No. 455, up 11 places. So I guess it won't be long now!

    Keep on rollin...

At the rate we're going we should be in the stop 100 in a month and a half or so....depending on how active the top 200 teams are.

We have been consistently in the Top 50th in terms of productions.

So, I guess the one and a half month mark to reach Top 100 is quite reachable.

    So lets get cranking people

  26. #26
I think a month and a half is a bit optimistic-- or else my math is way off:
#100 is ~7,400,000 today, and we are at ~1,400,000. We are putting out roughly 30,000 a day. That means we should make up the 6,000,000
    differential in about 200 days.

That's a much more accurate number rshepards, my number was pretty much thrown out there as an estimate based on how much we've been moving up each day the last week. Didn't take the time to crunch it but I think we could do it in 90 if we tryed

I'd be willing to move a "few" boxen over if I could get someone's word that they'd help with the ZetaGrid project once we reached 100... In Zeta, we're currently 16th, and I think we could make a serious run for #1. IIRC, we're the number 1 or 2 producer in the project right now, and it's only me and a friend of mine running it. Whaddya say folks? Any takers?

I'll take you up on that offer DP, I'm only on this project because they asked for some help in the first place

  32. #32
Sure, I'm game-- I tend to be pretty flexible about what I'm running; like magnav0x, I threw in on this one in response to the call for help in making the run to 100.

Just a side-note for ZetaGrid, it does require you to have Java installed on the machines you want to run it on. FYI.

When I get home I'll switch over some machines...

I was just taking a look at the Zetagrid project, didn't install it yet, because I haven't got JRE installed, but I'll do the switch no problem when the OGR guys get what they want lol.

Slightly OT here, why don't we ask the powers that be to get a ZetaGrid forum up and running so that I know where to look for information if I wanted to run in the future

And a big thank you to all the supporters of OGR that are helping the Team move to the Top 100. You are a the best

After OGR and Zeta, I'll most likely put Hydra Central on DF (assuming the new client is out) or split it between DF and another project (depending on the size of Hydra at that time.).

Perhaps because there are a lot of OGR-24-workunits handed out today? That means: Our crunching power pushes us on two positions: OGR-24 and OGR-25, and that's bad, because we have to share and won't climb up on OGR-25 on our usual way the way to top-100-on-OGR-25 takes us a bit longer

If everybody gets nothing but OGR-24, we could climb up to top 100 in OGR-24?

In OGR-24 the 100th team has got about 170,000 gnodes, we only have about 36,000. If we could reach the rate of OGR-25's output, we could reach the top 100 in about one week or so (but I didn't include the other teams production in that calculation...)

It only depends on the master-key-servers of distributed.net...
