As of yesterday, we are in position 80, up 6 from the previous day.

At this rate, I do see us being in Top 50 by Christmas.

As of yesterday, we are holding steady at position 78.

We will be moving up two places if everybody continues to produce like today. So FoBoT, any dumpage in sight?

Woot... we have broken Top 60 in our bid to get to Top 50 by Christmas. Looks like things are going good for Free-DC in this project.

As of yesterday, we are up 4 places to be in position 69.

    Keep it up people.

i think we have no problem to reach #50 before 2005

we are averaging over 100,000 a day and only have 3,000,000 to go

Looks like we will climb up two ranks in the next few days with that daily rate...

Started some Bittorrent downloads yesterday, that means, that I'll contribute some stubs too

    Greets,

Finally back online. Just moved from Indianapolis to Settle and new job.

Have to get the farm (and everything else shipped out), but have Celeron laptop crunching pathetically so at least I'll be able to chip in.

Good to see you all again.

    I cannot believe a PPC G3 @ 800Mhz does more work than a 2.4 Ghz Celeron.

what more proof do you need

    Good to see you again!

I hope your new job is great!

What do you do with your 800 MHz G3? RC5 or OGR? In RC5 I would believe that advantage, but at OGR? If yes: wow!

And what will you crunch at distributed.net? OGR or RC5?

Ido OGR. I never got into RC5.

Can you give me some Nodes per second numbers of your celeron and your 800 MHz G3? Sounds interesting

I'm not so much into Mac and Apple and so on... how old is that G3 800 MHz?

The G3 is a Blue & White (B&W) with an 800Mhz upgrade card. Box came out in 1999 I think. Has 1GB RAM.

G3 does ~13M nodes per second.

2.4Ghz Celeron does ~8M nodes per second.

The OS X codes is highly optimized for PPC processors which is why it gets such high marks.

I never expected this Celeron chip to get so badly beat by an 800Mhz chip. I only bought this laptop because it was cheap..not as a cruncher. I hd to fly out for this job and had to leave the farm at home till I can ge it shipped.

I get ~22M on my 933 G4 (Altivec enabled). I can't even guess what you would get with a bottom of the line G5 iMac at 1.6Ghz ~ I think Death said he got 30M+ on his G5.

I've saved up for an upgrade and now it's time to buy it - http://www.gigadesigns.com/products7AD1617U.html

I'm doing ~22.9G/s max with my 933Mhz G4. I'm kind of hoping that I will be doing above ~60G/s with the dual.

For $800 gives me as much cpu power as a Dual G5 2.0.

    I can live with that

the-mk and I together are matching (approx) fobot in daily output now we've ramped up.

    Thankfully we still have FoBoT

    My math says something different:

My temp output of about 5,000 GNodes and your (fulltime?) output of about 5,000 GNodes are added up about 10,000 GNodes.

FoBoT is on average of 20,000 GNodes per day

So we don't have even the half of FoBoTs output

But we are still doing something on OGR

i still haven't gotten back the many Ghz of CPU i had to "loan" out in march

i think we are stuck at #44 for a while, team 43 is over 4 million ahead and has much higher daily production, team 42 we are catching, but it will be almost 5 million , that is like 5 months or something to reach them

I have my old G4 933Mhz online now producing. Will be another ~2.8T p/d. I'm fighting off the urge to buy another Dual 1.8Ghz G5. I hope I'm man enough to keep away from Fry's .. it's only 8 blocks away

I have a friend who is going to run OGR on his XP64 3300 for as long as he can stand it..or until he thinks it's interfering with his CounterStrike Source action

Happy 4th to all the Norte Americano types on the board!!!

I've just added 11 P4 3.2g systems to my farm on OGR. As soon as I pass 100K on folding@home I'm switching everything else over to OGR, except for a few amd AMD systems that will be on rc5-72. I'm hoping to hit 50T per day.

For stats on the systems I'm running check the Free-dc supercomputer.

Great stuff you guys. Its good to see that this project still has interest from a couple of big hitters.

Lowly mini farmers such as myself get excited about recently obtaining 16th position on the team.

About a third of the producton was from home. I only have three home systems on OGR right now. But two of them are dual P3's. I just finished some cooling upgrades on a few other home systems so they should be moved over from faolding@home to OGR. Most of my work systems are still on folding@home. The switchover will probably happen Sunday night or Monday morning.

Thanks to guru's gorilla-like stompage, Free-DC outperformed our next target by 7T nodes.

As they are only 4M T (plus change) ahead of us...it might take some time....
