    Robotic Rollercoasters

And now, for our "Damn That's Cool" segment, allow me to present this thing:

    Robotic Rollercoaster

I have GOT to try this thing. I wish they'd say where they were...

When I first read about it, I thought it sounded cool purely from a technical point of view. Once I started watching the videos, though, I started thinking it might really be fun to ride.

It looks cool but then again, it looks dangerous too.

What if the hand breaks off? You might be sent flying out the window.

Or worst yet... what if you get a Blue Screen of Death????

I made the mistake of watching this when I first woke up this moring. When I finished cleaning off my screen, and cleaning off my nose, I decided I wasn't hungry after all.

I have one child who adores things like this (roller coaster, etc), and one who won't even look at them. My husband loses color in his face at the mere mention of them.

Not wanting to disappoint the "I'm not afraid of anything" child, I'm the designated "OMG you really don't want to ride that do you" parent (the attendants generally have to peel me off the ride).

Give me an atomic wedgie any day.

If it were just a regular rollercoaster with wheels and stuff, I think I would be fine but the robo-arm thingy is just plain scary.

Its just so prone to failure.

I have a hunch that someone is going to sue the company soon...

The man walks into a seedy bar on the lower east side and, in a rough voice, says to the bartender "I'm lookin for some smileys..." The bartender glances around furtively, sizes up the man before him, and replies "You can probably find what you're lookin for in the alley behind the butcher shop on 31st street. Ask for 'the Moogie'..."

As the man walks hesitantly down the alley, he thinks he can almost make out a dim figure standing in the shadows. Wearing a long trenchcoat, the man in the shadows watches as he approaches. As he gets close enough to speak, our man asks "Are you the Moogie?"

"Yes", came the reply, "and I've got what you need." The figure in the shadows steps forward to open a trenchcoat filled with ill-gotten smileys. They're all there. Punching smileys, smileys with machine guns, smileys on fire, even the atomic wedgie smiley. Yup, our man has definately found a new supplier...
