Thread: Team by members

    Team by members

Bok - Do you have or can you do a Team page by member across all the projects they are crunching on.
That is a list each member of a team by the total points/credits accumulated.

Example - Team PC Help Forum
    Bok ......... Total credits today - 9,432,456 ... Total credits yesterday - 8,326,274 ... Total credits - 143,760,154
    OldChap .. Total credits today - 8,452,123 ... Total credits yesterday - 9,432,456 ... Total credits - 100,861,935
    etc.

I ask this because one member of my team is crunching only at WCG, while another is crunching on many projects.
It would be nice to be able to post the total DC effort across the board for each member of the Team.
Since I lack your programming skills, I can not extract this data from your existing database myself.

If this is not explanation enough, I will be happy to expand on my idea.

    Thank you

    Yes, of course.

Many ways to get there, but this is how I do it.

first start at your cpid page - http://stats.free-dc.org/stats.php?p...2571d1af9971f8

then click on your team in the summary section to go to http://stats.free-dc.org/stats.php?p...d&team=Free-DC

then look at the number of users when it says click to list users to get to http://stats.free-dc.org/stats.php?p...b&team=Free-DC

That is great. I knew you'd have something up your sleeve.
One suggestion: Add a Data Updated: line in its usual place with the Current Time:.

    Edit:

    There are discrepancies between:
    1. http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/te...rdsPerPage=100

    and

    2. http://stats.free-dc.org/stats.php?p...=PC+Help+Forum

Can you clarify for me, please.

    Thanks

No sure which discrepancy you are asking about.

    Either

WCG display their own points which are 7x the BOINC credits and also they update their points twice per day, but export the BOINC data 3x per day at different times.

    or

Because WCG internally track how much credit each user has given to a team, but they don't export this data, so we have no way of knowing it. All we can display is how many total credits a user has and which team they are currently on. (though I do track team movement also).

Does this answer the question ?

  5. #5
It's not the points/credits, but the members. Sorry for not being more specific.

Example: LoneWolf_53 is our PCHF WCG Team Captain yet he is not listed on your (before mentioned) PCHF listing however he is on this listing...

Ah, well, that's because if you look at this page http://stats.free-dc.org/stats.php?p...f5f43e8df46d39

he is a member of BOINC Australia in his other projects. In order to decide which team a member is in 'overall' I take a count of the teams they belong to across all their projects, the team with the most wins. In this case he is on BOINC Australia in 5 projects, but PCHF in only 1.. He would have to move teams in his other projects or add some more projects with team PCHF.

    make sense ?

Thanks... I'll put this question to him.
There are other dubious member names, but I'll have to cross reference them before making any further queried.
It was just that LWs name jumped out at me because it is the Team captain.

I'll get back to you after I have had a chance to do some cross referencing.

There is one member on your list that is not on the WCG list - robinanddanielle
    Can you please verify.

    Thanks

    Edit:

There is a member on the WCG list that is not on your list - monkeymagic

they are the same user, having done only 2 projects - WCG and Rosetta@Home - http://stats.free-dc.org/stats.php?p...06c34dd9a322e9

For the combined user, again it tries to pick the name that appears in the most projects, in this case , it's a choice of 1 and 1. it picks one of them.

Can you manually flip/flop the choice to monkeymagic since they are not actively crunching?

Not practically, it's likely based on the name as it alphabetically comes ahead of it.

It's all done globally in a single sql statement for ALL users. I would have to code something specifically for this one user afterwards, and honestly I don't want to do that - it's a bad precedent.

Can you not get in touch with this user and have them either change teams at Rosetta or join another project in your team ?

I don't want you to break any rules on my account. I'll contact him to make the change as you suggest. Thanks

    Edit:

I just noticed the boarder around the badge banner. Looking good!

I have been searching Free-DC for robinanddanielle and can not find a listing. Is this because of an action on your part.
I am not complaining. Merely trying to understand. If the member name robinanddanielle is no longer an issue, then I won't have to address monkeymagic about it.

    Thanks

    Edit:

Now I'm confused again. I went here...
    http://stats.free-dc.org/stats.php?page=index
I did a name search for monkeymagic and found a listing.
I searched for robinanddanielle and received no listing.
That is when I originated this post.
Then, I thought, then searched for my Gandalf_the_Grey and had a null return when I know I am in your database.
    What am I doing wrong?

It's a bug. Actually two bugs. First one was a simple fix so you will find robinaanddanielle now (was because they don;t have a combined user at all and I was not setting a counter in that scenario)

For you though, that's an escaping issue because of the underscore in your name. Combination of mysql real_escape_string and html decoding is not escaping it correctly.

Bit more involved but I'll fix.

    Search for robinanddanielle worked.
    http://stats.free-dc.org/stats.php?p...xact=N&cross=N
However, clicking on the name took me to monkeymagic.

Full circle As explained above, they have the same cpid, but their combined name was chosen to be monkeymagic... it's entirely possible that it flip flops between them, though unlikely.

You are going to drive me batty. I'm just glad one of us is sane. While http://stats.free-dc.org/stats.php?p...=PC+Help+Forum is showing as monkeymagic now, I think as soon as I can contact him, I'll ask him to sign up as monkeymagic on another Project. That should tilt the balance. That is what you said - Right?

P.S. - I just hit one million credits with Collatz. And, I'll be a 5 million credits with GPUGRID before the day is out.

    P.S.S - I still can't search on my name.

    search with underscore works now.

If the user has two projects with name A, and one project with name B, then A will be their combined username.

You underscore does work, now. However, it opens up another can of worms (what's new).
    Compare...
    http://stats.free-dc.org/stats.php?page=search&proj=&team=&name=Gandalf_the_Grey&exact=N&cross=N

    with...
    http://stats.free-dc.org/stats.php?p...0d0f10d06d71dd

Folding@Home - I'm not sure about. I can't get into their front door to check it out.
If I could log in, I'd change or set the team. I Googled for a login URL, but no joy.

I see part of the problem. The search includes Gandalf_the_Grey and Gandalf the Grey. Two different names. That is why the team PC Help Forum is not listed on all the lines.

Edit: I just learned that F@H is not managed by BOINC so I doubt I've ever crunched for them.
Click on the Gandalf name for F@H. It's a dummy.

not much I can do about that, underscores are treated as wildcards in most databases, still it's just the search, it's finding everything but that doesn't mean it's all you.

    folding@Home is non boinc.

FWIW, there are multiple Bok's as well, not all me

I just don't filter out the cpid for non BOINC projects ( no such thing as a cross project ID in non BOINC projects), so it shows 0 and doesn't go anywhere. Click on the ID instead which takes you to http://stats.free-dc.org/stats.php?p...&offset=435658

There is actually quite a few places where I should filter data a bit better for non boinc projects. The user page etc. Not that important though.

monkeymagic member of PC Help Forum team indicates MilkyWay@Home.

    http://stats.free-dc.org/stats.php?p...=mil&team=5497
MilkyWay Team for PC Help Forum does not indicate monkeymagic.

Are these not supposed to indicate the same data with respect to monkeymagic?

On your first link, click on the Alternate view with country/name/team on each project and it will show the names for each project..
