Bahstads! Now I have to re-schedule visits to my off-site / off-line boxen.
And since you asked, no, it absolutely is NOT possible for them to win.
News from Howard.
10/01/2003
- In consideration of recent upload difficulties, we have rescheduled the protein update to Friday, October 3, 2003 at 11:00 am EST.
- Some users have reported long waits for uploading their data. We believe we have fixed this problem, but if you continue having difficulty please post details on the project forum.

Or, are we talking about the Giants going to the World Series. Then that would be different.
I just think it's quite insensitive of Howard to consider other people's wishes as more important than mine.
I mean, like, who's important around here, anyway?

There now Paratima, it'll be alright.
I'm sure it was just an oversite. Couldn't you reschedule your days off?

Man!!!.....I couldn't get Fozzie's strucs to upload. maybe somebody with experience doing -purgeuploadlist could have done better but only Paratima wrote to me.
I for one am tired of the excuse that "it's your RAM, it's your (alledgedly) overclocked machine, you've run out of disk space" .. Gimme a break!! Who runs out of disk space anymore!!!
And Friday IS a bad day. We went from Thursday cutover to Tuesday BECAUSE the servers and code couldn't be trusted after a switch.
Remember the Arab curse/blessing - "May you live in interesting times..."

i guess i'll have to try and get the autoupdate daemon thingy working tonight or in the morning and rely on it
it appears i have the demon working
i found a copy of the august protein and put it onto an old box and ran it foldit.bat style and then service style, and it updated ok , hope it works friday

Use the right tool for the right job!
Well, over here, Ned and Halo Jones have suggested a Monday cutover rather than Friday. This is the same thread where our buddy Brian da Fist proclaimed rather indignantly that he really does keep up with forum postings.
So maybe if enough folks thought (out loud) that the Monday thing would be a good idea...

how about sunday at 6 am GMT ??
i will work around whatever, i have remote access to my online boxen, i can check to see if the autoupdate demon worked by the stats and then get into the online boxen if they get borked
its just the offline ones, i will have to dump them thursday before leaving for the weekend and they'll be down until moonday
no biggie, i've dealt with worse stuff before!

Ahh, FoBoT, if only more of us were to adopt this princely attitude you have.Originally posted by FoBoT

There would be a lot fewer alarums and excursions around here!
i.e., less weeping, wailing and gnashing of teeth.

I'll probably still be hard at work uploading Saturday but no work will be done on my boxen at work until I change them over Monday.
I agree Monday switch is far better
This is going to hurt me also maybe in a big way.
I will be gone Friday through Tuesday and not even the entension covers all that time.
Here's to hoping that my quick scripts will do their job.
first time i setup the daemon, the next day howard makes a new one for the first time in months
