I'm going to quit doing factoring, it doesn't seem to "count" for the repository, or for the team standings.
You're right, it doesn't Is a shame though. Come join the double checking crowd!

If you want any chance at catching Team PrimeRib I would suggest putting all resources on factoring. Just a thought, I'd love to see some action among the big teams. For a LL run, you would need hundreds of P4's to catch up. I'm glad to see FreeDC venturing into this project though. Anything that advances the cause is ok with me. Good luck

Unfortunately, the factoring doesn't count in the team standings, or as part of the DC Repository rankings.

We will never catch PrimeRib, but we ARE in the top 5,000, having moved up 26,000 places in less than two weeks. Now that is just down-right fun! I'm certainly not even thinking about catching TPR, - the big guys have been crunching with way too many boxen for way too many years - but it would be nice to move into the top 1,000 teams.

    10463371 D 65 NULL 8.0 2.0 62.0 11-Nov-03 08:42 05-Nov-03 22:52 FoBoT 1794 v19/v20

10463371 is the current prime exponent you are working on (10463371 iterations)
D indicates you are running a double check
NULL (3rd field that you have no report for) the third field will show what current iteration of the prime you are on when you manualy report into the server.
65 I'm not sure, possibly the amount of binary bytes the prime is?
8.0 The amount of days you have been running the current prime
2.0 The estimated amount of days remaining until it's finished
62.0 How many days until the prime expires. If you do not finish it within that many days it will be unassigned from you so someone else can get it.
11-Nov-03 08:42 This is the last time you manualy communicated with the server and updated your progress
05-Nov-03 22:52 This is the date you were assigned the prime
    FoBoT Your machine ID
    1794 Mhz of your machine
    v19/v20 Prime95 client version

That's the gist of that stuff at the bottom it shows prime exponents that have been done:

    10463351 65 D 0x3D0A825DF99AEB__ 11-Nov-03 06:54 FoBoT

10463351 The prime exponent you submitted (10463351 iterations)
65 Again, not sure but I think it's the total bytes of the prime exponent
D Indicates it was a double check
0x3D0A825DF99AEB__ This is the Lucas-Lehmer residue or factor (don't ask?)
11-Nov-03 06:54 Date the prime exponent was completed
FoBoT Machine ID that completed it

65 is the exponent the WU was trial factored to prior to you receiving it; in this case 2^65.
Note that this number can be run up significantly during the P-1 phase-- I believe NiNeball caught a factor at 2^84

However, being #432 in Trial Factoring and climbing is not a bad thing.

I don't see our team in there, but taking a look at our factoring years, we should be right around that rank

    Looking good--
George got my old years moved (thanks George!) and rsbriggs locked in the first "from scratch" LL-test
Top 3500 now, with a number of folks poised to return results heading into the weekend.

Absolutely amazing performance for an 11 day old team in an old, popular project like this where the top crunchers literally run hundreds of computers !!!

Now ranked @ 3149. Not sure if you guys noticed, but I notice our GIMPS activity ever so slightly eats away at the ARS local work percentage for GIMPS each time the DC Repository updates We may never be able to catch em, but that's just about as fun for me

Actually the 65 indicates that the DC was factored to 2^64 bits. The extra bit indicates that P-1 factoring has been performed on the exponent (This is also the last number on each line in the worktodo.ini either a 1 indicating P-1 has been done, or a 0 P-1 has not been done). Due to P-1's nature (memory usage, bounds, the math, etc.) there is no exact bit level that the stage factors to. Have a look here to see what the hard coded factoring depths are for exponent ranges. Also a good intro on the math involved.

As to the 62 days to expiration, the exponent will only expire in 62 days if there is no communication from the client. In this case, due to the server's 60 day expiration limit, you can surmise that the client should communicate with the server in 2 days and at the point of re-communication the exponent will have 60 + "Days between sending new end dates" till the exponent expires. I would suggest setting Options | Preferences | Days between sending new end dates: to 1 so that you can see progress of your machines on a daily basis and also give you a heads up on any computers that may have run amuck.

Congrats everyone, you are now ranked 423 in factoring. Look here to see your ranking. This is why I suggested focusing efforts on factoring because you can climb the fastest there.

We would consider that, but we're not focusing on Factoring, because it gives no ranking in the DC Repository
