    Exclamation MouseTracker

    MouseTracker

I know, I know. It's another one. It keeps track of the distance your mouse travels (in metres and kilometres), and the number of left/right clicks.

I have created the team and submitted a couple of times, even if nobody else bothers. I think we could easily shoot up the rankings in this project, though The stats update as submissions are made, as far as I can see. I guess you could call that kinda-realtime.

    Yup, Windows only.

I actually don't think I would have bothered installing the client if Ars didn't have a team Come on, let's show our rivals how its done.

I was actually able to login and fully use the client before I clicked the link in the activation email.

Edit: I see you on the stats now

OK, I'm there... had to install that MSINET.OCX and now it runs!

    I'm on Team Free-DC and submitted about 2.45 m

Sweet little icon in the taskbar!

Can anyone combine the features of Tiny Key Counter and this mouse tracker? That would be the greatest thing!

Indeed, it IS a pain to have to run so many different clients for the different features. One single client that counted keystrokes, mouse clicks, mouse scrolls and mouse distance travelled would be awesome.

I would like to see one of the keystroke counting projects come up with a way to calculate the distance your hands travel when typing, assuming the user is on a QWERTY keyboard (or have plugins/configurability for other layouts). That would be a little more interesting

    Question wtf?

There is something odd at the mousetracker stats:

    Facts:
    - Alpha, you've sent 1 km 976 m 84 cm.
    - I've sent 0 km 108 m 93 cm.
    - We are only two users on Team Free-DC at the moment.

How can the sum of the Team Distance be 2 km 416 m 69 cm?

If I add the two distances, they are 2 km 85 m and 77 cm, so what's wrong there?

AND: yes, it's a pain for me too, to have multiple clients to count all those things

Yeah, I noticed that too. No idea. There is a forum on the website, someone may have already mentioned it as a bug.

I think we need to move that thread into the key-counter-section of this forum... and rename the key-counter-section into something usefull... i.e. key-counting and mouse-tracking or something like that

And: Welcome to all the newbes in this team!

Sounds like a good idea to me, now that the team has been somewhat populated.

We're up to 80th position with a total of 9 users.

Starting to wish I hadn't said anything about Anarchy now, he's hot on my tail

/me wonders if I can charge my clients for mouse-travel

    A special welcome for Supp!

Our team has now 10 members!

I fell down from the second place to the fourth

But the team-ranking increased to rank 71!!!

My fingers want to write another stats-page for that new mouse-tracking-stats!

    __________

And a letter to Santa Claus (who's coming soon ):

    Dear Santa Claus!

I want a programm that counts my keystrokes, mouseclicks,
mousescroll and tracks my mouse-moves (a combination of
TKC and BMT). And I want to have some marvellous stats
therefore! The whole year I kept out of mischief and I really
want a tool like that! Please dear Santa Claus! Please! Thanks!

    Yours

    /edit - now they're both 2 km 308 m 19 cm

    Hi,

welcome everybody at this new great counter project.

Please don't invent any new counter projects! Now I've three projects (Orca, TKC, BMT) running on my desktop. There is almost no place left in my traybar for other ones

Wirthi, you are right! We don't need no other counters

I've got the same three counting/tracking-prgramms also in my traybar....
    __________

And if you look into the Project Orca stats, we can see, that only a four people are active: DP, PY222, you and me. Our sisters stopped that client and I think about stopping it too, because we have already a keycounting-feature in the TinyKeyCounter-tool... AND: there is no official Free-DC-Orca-stats-site, where all joined members are listed, so I think about stopping that stats too... it makes no sense to me...

How do you think about it?

Hmm .. gotta install the client on my sisters machine. She's not using it very often though but every mouse-move helps

We'll improve our rank but as Fozzie said we'll need more members to reach the highest positions.

    If 1st place = 3 points, 2nd place = 2 points, 3rd place = 1 point:

    Code:
                 Distance
    1 2 3
    anarchy99	fozzie pfb

    		LMB
    1 2 3
    pfb anarchy99	wirthi

    		RMB
    1 2 3
    Scoofy12	alpha pfb
    so:

    =1) Anarchy99 = 5 points
    =1) pfb = 5 points
    3) Scoofy12 = 3 points
    =4) alpha = 2 points
    =4) Fozzie = 2 points
    5) wirthi = 1 point
