    Question -dt switch

    HI
What is the meaning of the -dt switch in foldit.bat.
It seems to affect the amount of storage used, but that is what -rt is supposed to do.

Hi, Al. The -dt switch was first used to allow an optimization which now is standard. To quote from the "whatsnew.txt" readme file...
    - removed -d buffer size option, though still allowed
    (but ignored) for backwards compatibility
So, it shouldn't currently have any (or very much) effect. Yes, the -rt switch is for extra memory.

Thanks for the info. I didn't realize it was in whatsnew.

I must have turned this on months ago when there was an optimization problem, and I never turned it off. (also I put in -DT anstead of -D). This seems to affect the amount of storage reported by Task Manager, but in a test I discovered it has no affect on the results.

I have taken it out of foldit.bat
