DCr style stats...

Ok, this is experimental. A few people have asked for this over the past year or so...

You can sign up to be included in this within the http://www.free-dc.org/statstool.php

It's based on a similar principle to the old DCR Team rankings that were produced way back when.

In this case it's just meant to be FUN... Nothing more, nothing less.

Points are based on a simple principle based on score, total score of team and number of team members. It is only based on Free-DC teams. It is also very dependant on whether you choose to include your score in the individual project.

I'm completely open to the structure of the categories within it, I just hashed them together today based on my failing memory of the old DCR and whatever was left over

The front end piece still needs some work.. and possibly the back end too. I'm updating it every hour, but haven't integrated positional movement at all, in fact I have no idea if it will in fact still work after it moves to another day, we'll find out and I'll fix tomorrow if need be..

Yes, it's better to split because the calculation formula is different.

OGR-24 should be moved to "Archived Projects" since it's been completed for several months. As far as I can tell, ChessBrain is also not currently active, so it could also be archived.

How do we find out our md5crk IDs? There are no stats sites alive for that project.

We were talking about moving OGR24 to archived just this afternoon on IRC. It'll get done. I'm holding off of Chessbrain for a little while longer though..

Interesting change today

DesertFolk joined the DCR and it caused PY 222 to jump up a spot over rjkc4 .. why did this happen...

well the main affects were

DesertFolk added a fairly small number to D2OL, but the addition of another participant affected the calculations so people with high numbers in D2OL got a better increase

PY 222 gained more by that

DesertFolk also added a quite large number in seti. This dropped both PY and rjkc4's score in seti, but as rjkc4 had a bigger points total in seti, he dropped more

There was more minor changes from other additions but these were by far the biggest factors...

I found it interesting anyway

It will change even more once he adds the rest of his project id's

Just wait for DesertFolk's ClimatePrediction score coming in too... he's just moved it over to Free-DC so it'll show up next time the stats are updated there... I'm thinking #1.....

Strange things are happening. I just signed up and was shown as 19th on the list. After correcting some user IDs, I'm now gone, but obviously not list:

#18 (Angus) is showing up
#20 (Magnav0x) is showing up with a red "down" arrow (-1)

but #19 (me) is missing.

That's also true for the detail pages, at least for the Misc page. I should be #1 there (at least I was that before correcting my user IDs), the list is now starting with #2, #1 (me?) is missing.

Guess it now takes one stats update for me to show up again?

Edit: got the error. My browser's cache brought me back to an old version of the User Stats Config site where "Include in DCR Rankings" was not checked. Why does that lead to the behavior described above? Why is not Magnav0x #19 then? When I'm not showing up, I should not be counted at all I think.

Nice one Bok. I love this site for things like this.
Was tempted to add some of my old Ars sigs from when I ran Anthill but I think I`ll be fair and just leave my new stuff from here as I close the last chapter of Ars.
Don`t want to forget all my old Ars buddies but lost interest in all the bickering that`s gone on over there recently and adding the Anthill stuff would only upset your new stats.

I'm not tracking the Ars stuff anyway for a lot of the projects, though I could easily add it if need be..same with any other team if those people want to sign up

it's standard html practice (at least I think so). Once you do a POST, if you then refresh that page, you are still in POST mode and it would do it again. I'm not sure how to get around that without jumping to another page..

I think I know why that behaviour would happen and you are correct. The calculations are done in a perl script every 30 mins. At that point it works out ranks too. The display is done via php and does a join between these calculated tables and the table storing your id's. It only displays users with DCR = 'Y', so as soon as you untick that it would not show you 'in real time', but it would take up to 30 mins for the rankings to be fixed..

posting: no, I didn't reload the posted data. I just clicked the link you provided again and assumed the browser would load that page from the server with the current data. Instead it showed me the old (almost empty) page without reloading it, what caused me to post the data without a check in the "Include in DCR Rankings". I'm not entirely sure why I didn't recognize that though, I should have seen that there was almost no data filled in there. Well, some mysteries have to remain ...

if you drill down to your username on my stats page for wcg, you'll get to here

In the URL you'll see what your 'name' for that project is (don't include the '+' though as that is just HTML putting that instead of spaces. Your name should be 'retsofVulture Central III'. I had to combine the userid and teamname to avoid duplicates..do the same for UD. If you have any problems, let me know and I'll fix it for you.

changed itself to

Changing the DIMES one to
retsofVulture Central IV
made the score 0
so I changed DIMES back to plain

It already knows about the team there.

Hi All

I've tried to click the link in the first post to creat my own DCr stats, but it says I'm not logged in - clearly I am as I can post this. I've cleared my cookies and even all my cache to try and solve the problem but it still says I'm not logged in.

Any ideas

edit: Using Firefox 1.0.6 on Win XP SP1... but also tried using IE on same.

Here is my statsbox as it stands at the moment:

Couple of further questions on this one then.

1. Firstly, my name on WCG is suffering from the same problems as retsof, however the now infamous Vaio apostrophe is giving me some more jip. My username for WCG shows as:

gordomavaio%26%2339%3Bs+JTS+2

or

gordoma - vaio's JTS 2

...neither of which seem to work on the DCr thing. Please can you advise me of which I should use? Here is my stats page for WCG.

2. I have done some crunching for UD/Grid.org but for different teams under the same ID (free love and all that

None of these four teams is represented on free-dc for UD and of what I've seen for WCG, if someone leaves a team and joins another one then they essentially get another ID... e.g. I currently have only "gordoma@Vaio" but I would then get "gordoma@free-dc" if I decided to leave Vaio and crunch for your team. Is there any way of taking my ID from UD as it is and representing my overall points regardless of which team they were earned for?
