Its time to review the ideas behind Free-DC Hydra.

Back in the Spring, we started a discussion about having someone with the
space/money/talent to house computers in order to run DC clients for the
Free-DC teams.

The basic idea was that the operators would take donated parts and put
together a working computer and run their favorite DC project for Free-DC.

Out of that discussion came Free-DC Hydra West run by RacerX,
and Free-DC Hydra Central run by Magnav0x. To my knowledge these projects
have been successful and productive.

Here is where we could use an update from both of these Hydra operators
as to the good and bad points about the clusters that are operating.

And I would hope that depending on the reports from these operators we
could open a discussion about having another Hydra cluster in the East.

The idea behind doing this in regions (West, Central) was to position the
clusters in an area that would be central to the persons that wanted to donate
hardware to the clusters. The idea was to minimize the cost of shipping.

I think with the upcoming holiday season is a good time to recommit
to Free-DC Hydra as a place to donate your used hardware that you are about
to replace.

In fact what a great gift giving idea it would be to pick out the Hydra cluster
close to you and place an order with NewEgg for a new part and have it
shipped to the operator in question in time for X-Mass.

And a merry X-Mass to all, Ho, Ho.
