    There was a bust in the Lifemapper stats yesterday-- US-D and some others had no stats.
    We are back at #6 today.

    But this shows that with a little strategic deployment that we could give them a run. I would be interested to see if anyone has crunched the numbers on this.
    Also it makes it that more important that we don't let them catch us in CB.

    I'm running

    Lifemapper and Chessbrain in a modest fashion and have just kicked off Gimps on my boxen at home.

    Looks like it will take some time to produce anything.

    Don't expect much though

    Hows This???

    its not 100% accurate (rounding I guess) but you get the picture.
    EDIT: updated for 12/6/03
    EDIT2: added US-Distributed (They are gonna be screwed if RSA-576 is retired now that it has been solved )

    			SCORE:	6.5472		7.1906	(0.643)
    FORMULA:
    Multiplier = (# of Local Teams running project/42)
    42 = Total Number of Local Teams in Repository
    Points = (Multiplier) * ((LWP/100) * 10)

    or:

    Points = 0.00238 * # Local Teams * LWP

    The big thing I see is: Even though there are over 56,000 GIMPS teams, the fact that only 8 of the 42 tracked teams run it makes it one of the lowest scoring projects in the repository because of the low multiplier that results from so few teams.
    Example: Ars only gets 1.89 points for GIMPS even though they have 99.24% of the local points

    Interesting. So can we take this same data and calculate a deployment plan that would maximize our tactical efficiency VS US-D for example?

    Looks like EON would be a good place to start (IMHO)

    I suggest we adopt some of the US d tactics and have an EON rally.
    I notice that they have become more active in EON lately probably sensing that we might make a run for the top.

    So linux users yes/no ?

    PS
    EON works really well on linux and sucks bigtime in windows.

    That's what I been tryin' to tell ya! Let's get 'em!

    Unfortunately , they don't play well with corporate firewalls and their proxy support is non-existent, so that leaves out my pharm at work. And yeah, I see the parameters in the .conf file, but haven't been able to make 'em do anything useful.

    Use the right tool for the right job!

    I'll give it a try on the box here at the house-- it's gotta share with GIMPS tho, so it won't be setting any records

    I agree with PCZ on the Windows issue. I tried it on my Windows box and turned in Free-DCs worst time yet on this project:
    12 ECL 3650 1

    Looks like Linux rules EON, so those with Linux boxes should go ahead. Should we pick a second project for Windows users? DPAD seems a good choice, since US-D recently passed us there but they're not too far ahead for us to catch them if we work together. If not DPAD, there are plenty of other projects where we could use some concerted team effort.

    Im in for DPAD. DF has been giving me mass headaches on my computer (Throwing errors left and right), so i'll give it a break and crunch DPAD (my first Free-DC project)
