I've lurked on Ars for *years*. I'm actually registered there and have something like 4 posts, but I never joined an Ars team because it never felt "right". I started my own SETI team (VanSETI), and belong to a Canadian UD team because there was nothing else that interested me. I believe that this non-affiliated, but very tightly-knit, team idea has merit, and I'm willing to add my meager resources behind it. If I'm your target audience, even better.

We're glad to have you here at Free-DC. You'll have to pardon the current disarray as we weren't quite ready for things to start happening just yet.

Over the next week or so, though, you'll see things really start to come together. I think you're going to like it here!
