    SoB Linux Clients not connecting...

    Hi guys!

I'm having an unable to connect to server problem with the linux client on every machine. I've tried installing from scratch with new everything and I've tried versions: 1.02, 1.00, 0.97 and I keep getting the same error of not connecting!
    Are the servers down?
Did you changed servers or something?

Can you post some of the logfile and also what distro, what release, and what kernel version?

    Thanks,

    Hello!

Well, since the logfile is new, the only thing it has is:

    Code:
    [Mon Dec 29 14:25:23 2003] client process [v1.0.2] invoked
[Mon Dec 29 14:25:23 2003] priority set to idle
[Mon Dec 29 14:25:23 2003] connecting to server
[Mon Dec 29 14:25:23 2003] couldn't get block from server [can't connect], retry
    ing in 100 secs
[Mon Dec 29 14:27:03 2003] connecting to server
[Mon Dec 29 14:27:03 2003] couldn't get block from server [can't connect], retry
    ing in 100 secs
It's weird because this started happenning last week and I didn't noticed until it finished processing the whole working unit.!
Doing a uname from the machine I'm testing this gave me a kernel version number:

    2.4.20-8smp
    (a dual 1.2 T-Bird)

And the distribution is Red Hat 8.0

Also, it isn't working on a machine with RH 7.3 (it was working before) with the same kernel but not smp.

You might try connecting to my proxy (link below) and use my proxy to try and get work.

I've compiled a TEST version of 1.2.0 for linux.. download it here:sb.bz2

just bunzip2 sb.bz2 wherever you have your sb stuff and run sb like normal.

note, it's test. it's not official (yet) but as far as i can tell its a lot better than 1.0.2

also.. are you able to telnet to sb.pns.net 1717?

    Hi alien!

I just downloaded this version and I'm going to upload it to one of my computers.
Also, when I telnet to the location you gave me, it connects, tells me what is the escape character but doesn't allow any log ins (I suppossed it is set this way right?)
    and then disconnects me!

I'm going to try the new version and see what happens.!

    Thanks.
