harnessing GPUs for numbercrunching...

yes, i admit to knowing almost nothing about programming (and this is a pretty noobish and rude thing to do) but is the posibility of harnessing your GPU to number crunch entirely out of the qustion?

somewhere on that site i read that a Geforce FX is the equivalent of approximately a 10Ghz P4...

hopefully not too much time will be wasted looking into this if it IS too early to use, yet at the same time, i hope it's not quickly disgarded and ignored...

but man, a 10ghz P4 ^_^ i'm sure my GF4Ti is at LEAST like a 3-5Ghz P4, if DX8 cards count...

edit: ugh, maybe not, upon second examination of the BrookeGPU site...
