    RSA 640 is late starting

It was supposed to start beginning 2004.

Wonder what the delay is ?

I havent checked on it, but would be interested to know when it starts.
We could rack up some big points in the DCR by jumping on this project.
We cant let USD get the jump on us in this because they will bring it.
Ill move a few machines over when it starts

PCZ, please do keep us posted regarding this project.

As I did the previous RSA - 576 project, I am keen on continuing on with the RSA - 640 as well.

In a short chat a while back it appeared that Bruno was waiting to hear from the French govt regarding his request for some supercomputer time. Evidently he needed some design work as he found things a bit more involved in the next challenge (640). The question then went to what would classify as a needed supercomputer, and how much time as it is a big world with a lot of assets out there. However things stopped at that point. So I don't have any idea now where he is at in regards to request to the French govt.

The method he was using with RSA-576 would have taken longer than all our lives to find a solution so unless he is using a completely different method for the next challenge, there is a good chance the Earth itself won't be around before a solution is found using his software.
