    Server status?

Is anybody (else) having problems uploading? I haven't gotten through in looks like 2 weeks, got 400-some odd gens lurking about.

    Error log tells me:
Mon Mar 08 12:43:10 2004 ERROR: [000.000] {ncbi_http_connector.c, line 284} [HTTP] Error writing body at offset 8192 (Closed)
Mon Mar 08 12:43:10 2004 ERROR: [000.000] {foldtrajlite2.c, line 4933} Error during upload: NO RESPONSE FROM SERVER - WILL TRY AGAIN LATER

Downloaded a fresh zip, on startup it gives me the same 'No response' message.

System is P-4, 2.8 GHz, 512 MB, WinXP. Plenty of free disc space.

Any help greatly appreciated - feeling a little bloated right now...

OK, I guess it's just my computer at work. I just checked everything here at home, at it is running just fine. Any suggestions? If not, I'll just try to sneaker-net tomorrow.

check to see if your work uses a proxy server to access the net.

If so you may need to create a proxy.cfg file (at least I think that's what it's called).

Check the readme file for more details.

And to find out your proxy details (and if a proxy is being used or not) go to Tools - > Internet Options - > Connections - > LAN Settings.

Then if the section on the form under "Proxy Server" is filled out, this means your work does use one, and you can go on to make the proxy.cfg file.

    From the readme:

    Using a Proxy Server
    --------------------
If you don't know what a proxy server is, you probably don't need to read
this section. If your network is set up to block most outgoing traffic on
port 80, the client may not be able to connect successfully to our server
(for example, if you require a proxy server to browse the web). If you
suspect you are in this category, simply create a small text file called
"proxy.cfg" in the same directory as the client program (and this readme).
In it type two lines; the first line is the name of your proxy server and
the second is the proxy port (often 8080). If this file is found by the
client at startup, it will try to connect to our server using the proxy
specified. Here is a sample proxy.cfg:

    proxy.foobar.com
    8080

If your proxy server requires Basic Authentication, simply add your
username and password after the port number, like so:

    proxy.foobar.com
    8080
    username
    password

If your proxy server uses NTLM Authentication replace username above
with username.DOMAIN where DOMAIN is your NT Domain/workgroup name.

I've actually tried it with and without the proxy, doesn't work either way. My theory is, maybe there were some changes made to the firewall that started blocking the traffic. There have been some strange things happening lately, so that might be it. I'll try another comp here, and if it doesn't work I'll upload from home. It's not really that big of a deal, just curious. Thanks though.
