That's great! But I think that the dailys will drop after the gauntlet is over
Breaking the top 30 would be sooo cool!
We are ranked 39th for the DAY!!!!!!
We are showing what Free-DC can be!
Can we break top 30??? DPC style dump anyone?
magicfan241, to those who do the major producing

Wow.. we have been slipping down the ranks on this project for a long time but it seems that we are widely awake now.
Maybe we should continue on and ramp till we reach the Top 100? Even after the gauntlet?
Well crap, I moved everything back to OGR after the stats deadline last night, got a boat load of "nice" OGR stubs that need to be completed "real soon" and Nitrousine is right on my tail in the other project too.
what to do..
/edit/ Contributing to the team's effort(s) is just as important, if not more so than personal goals/accomplishments...production on RC5 resumed.

Hey! Where the heck did you get those nice OGR stubs? Why do you get OGR-24?
I want to have some too. That's unfair, I just get OGR-25s
[/TRASH-TALK]
Well, I would say that you'll finish those nice stubs and change over to the gauntlet. Or would you share those OGR-24s if they really need to be completed very soon?

@ everyone else, have switich all the Win boxen to the pre-release client v2.9007.489b that can be found HERE . So far across all processors I am seeing a great improvement in speed;
P4's are seeing 15-18% incease, T-Bird and XP (barton) cores 25% increase and the old XP 1700's -1800's 20%-22% increase on RC5. However it looks to be a little slower for OGR, 2%-3% slower.
I tried this client on FreeBSD and saw a very small increase =< 1%.
As always YMMV, but well worth the time and effort to make the switich IMO.

Well Spotted Beyond! This core is much quicker on my XP's, for example:
XP2400 on 486b: 6,599,111
XP2400 on 489b: 7,717,604
It's also the first time I've cracked 10Mk/s on a uni-proc x86 CPU (FX51@2.6GHz):

Train hard, fight easy
Well, finally 3 months after the new core was first given and proven to be stable, they have added GO 2-pipe, and SGP 2-pipe.
If I remember right, GO used some MMX instructions in it, and that was why they were able to get that measure of speed increase out of it.
magicfan241, waiting for a linux release.
Well, the new client does absolutly nothing for the Centrino.
The new cores are horrid on the Pentium M.
I hope the other computers have a good reaction. When they have a DOS test, I'm going to test the C3 on the new cores.

Here's the page with all the pre-release clients.
RC5 PreRelease clients
One can only hope they are working on a linux client....Originally posted by guru
I bet they are working on it. Windows first, linux second. Hopefully they will have a solaris sparc client soon as well.
guru
I for one, am really hoping they are working on a linux client....

Thanks Beyond, but I think the gauntlet has more priority to me now

if apple still sell them they are about 1100 uk pounds, i got mine for 800 pounds
dnetc/buck its a sure winner, i get over 500 units a day just from this one machine, more than the rest of the pc network here (in my workshop) put together

i agree that macs aint cheap, but you do get what you pay for
i haven't studied the stats...... what sort of pc can crunch at 26,262,134 keys/sec ?
i dont really understand why the '86 version of dnetc runs so slow...intel and amd aren't that bad at making chips.. wheres the bottlenecks ?
i run 8 windows boxes 3 linux boxes and three macs so you cant call me mac centric, however if i ever need to do any paid work (graphic design, music, video etc) i just use the mac, the other boxes are a render farm, and help keep the workshop warm
