A United Launch Alliance Delta IV Heavy rocket launches NASA's Parker Solar Probe on a mission to touch the Sun, on Sunday, Aug. 12, 2018 from Launch Complex 37 at Cape Canaveral Air Force Station, Florida.

The Parker probe made its sixth close flight past the Sun, setting new records for proximity to a star and the speed of a man-made spacecraft. It turned out to be only 13.5 million kilometers from the photosphere of the star, which is equivalent to 35 distances from the Earth to the Moon, and again successfully collected scientific data, which will soon be transmitted to Earth.
