First CASP target to be released on Tuesday

The first CASP target to be run on Distributed Folding will be released through a protein update on Tuesday, July 6, 2004 at 10:30 am EST. You can see target details for more information. Please make sure to upload your buffered results ahead of time, as we only have approximately 1 week for each target.

Will auto-update Daemon work as usual?

Looking forward to it, in any case.

    We're ready for it

Little request: is there a possibility that you can provide us upfront when and what target is being released? I mean in a list with all the information

we will also increase the generation zero size to about 50,000, to make it a bit more like phase I
I wondered if you are considering this a Phase III so you could reset stats, since the approach is changing and not just the protein?

Um, "the approach, and not just the protein" has changed a few times already during phase 2. They were minor changes, just like this. Stuff like which algorithm is used to calculate structure quality, the number of structures per gen (it's gone up to 200 once or twice), etc., etc.

Nothing worth declaring a whole new phase for...

Looks like the competing Predictor group is actually posting their CASP results before submission period has closed:

Protein is going to be 126 residues long, at least that's the info provided on DF News page.

this lists the proteins for CASP 6 - on that list there are 11 proteins that fall in the 50 to 150 range Stardragon mentioned - with 78 being cancelled and 116 and 130 expiring this week. This leaves 8 viable proteins so either we will do some outside the 150 range or just spend 8 weeks doing CASP 6 or maybe redo some proteins with a tweaked algorithm...

    The 11 protein sizes:

    76, 78, 85, 87, 94, 103, 110, 116, 126, 130, 144
