tools to dump text into graphics file

is there a tool for windows (freeware or open source preferred) to dump text into a .jpg .bmp or .png ?

i assume that is what is used for these various stats graphic sig pictures that we are all using

i need it to be scriptable, that is, command line functional so that my logon script can use it

I'm doing it directly with php. I guess you could say that was a tool. You could also use one of the libraries like chartdirector to achieve it but it's so simple anyway once you have the gd library installed with php.

i know they have php for windows

so it sounds like one way would be to add php to my servers , include the gd library and learn php
