    I have them set to run every 3 hours.

    Please note that I didn't write these stats, they just take so long to run at the moment I had to change it to every 3 hours starting at 01:45.

    However you did just spike my interest so I took a quick look at the perl script

    They read through the daily files produced by the proxy, all of them, going back over a year now. But it looks like they just ignore the ones that have already been inserted into the DB. I don't know if that is what causes it to take so long or the DB access. Perhaps I'll take a look at it.

    another question: this 01:45, is this GMT or GMT-8 or GMT+1 or GMT-6? Or let me ask it another way: what is 14:45 EST in GMT+/-x?

    It's CST or GMT - 6

    That is where the server is located Dallas,Tx

    p.s. I just moved all of the logs from < Feb 2005 and ran the stats manually and it's still running after 30mins!! I guess I'll try and debug the thing.

    In an effort to speed up the ppstats script I'm going to start purging users who haven't used it over a certain amount of time. I've already done a few that were over 2 years ago, I think I may set it to say 200 days max ?

    Any objections ?

    If I can pare it down somewhat and it runs in a reasonable amount of time, I'll let it run more often..
