    I was not aware of this and I shall stick with United Devices until my month is up. I will not abandon our first project.

    UD was pretty much useless since not every1 can join. We will go back to that when we get more people.

    By yourself your not gonna get much done anyway

    I think we should help Free-DC to reach TOP100.

    I had to shutdown the computers for three days. Now they are running normal despite a stupid error ( when I restarted everything) Win XP gave me a few minutes ago..

    Let's rock and roll!

    Are you using the Free-DC Proxy Server?
    I'm not seeing any changes to the stats there...

    [networking]
    autofindkeyserver=no
    keyserver=*:2064;free-dc.org
    nofallback=true
    dialup-watcher=disabled
    interfaces-to-watch=*
    disabled=no

    I.B., is that what I need to edit my dnetc.ini file to read for networking to get it to use our proxy?

    Just added that text into the dnet.ini file. Let's see what happens.

    Proxy link is http://stats.free-dc.org/dnet/rc572/byemail.html.

    That proxy link seems to be saying that no one has returned any blocks in the last five days except Desert Folk and FoBot....

    And I've been a member of the team for a long time, and I don't show up....

    I found this link on the RC5-72 Free-DC forum. I completed a few units but I don't see my name there! Let's wait for Bok.

    Another way is

    [networking]
    autofindkeyserver=no
    keyserver=free-dc.org:2064
    nofallback=true
    dialup-watcher=disabled
    interfaces-to-watch=*
    disabled=no

    If you look in your logs, you should see
    [Mar 27 23:05:13 UTC] The perproxy says: "Free-DC DNet Proxy!! - Where DC is
    open and Fun!"
    Of course your date/time stamp may differ

    I just go into Buffer and buffer updates (option 2),

    then option 6 (keyserver)

    option 2 (change to no)

    press enter, then do option 3 and change it to free-dc.org

    that's it.

    Well, here's the last entry:

    [Mar 27 23:21:53 UTC] RC5-72: 2 packets (2.00 stats units) are in
    buff-out.r72
    [Mar 27 23:28:25 UTC] Connected to free-dc.org:2064...
    [Mar 27 23:28:25 UTC] The perproxy says: "Free-DC DNet Proxy!! - Where DC is
    open and Fun!"
    [Mar 27 23:28:25 UTC] Retrieved project state data from server. (cached)
    [Mar 27 23:28:25 UTC] RC5-72: Sent 2 packets (2.00 stats units) to server.
    [Mar 27 23:28:25 UTC] Connection closed.

    I show up in the http://stats.free-dc.org/new/alluser...direction=DESC stats:

    but not at http://stats.free-dc.org/dnet/rc572/byemail.html

    I would have thought so. The proxy itself is completely independant of the stats (which I did not write!!!) No idea why you wouldn't show up, though perhaps wait for the next update at least.

    They are a 3rd party add on to report everything that goes through the proxy. i.e. they read the logfiles created by the proxy and insert to a DB and then produce these pages. There is some fundamental problem though as they take AGES to run right now.

    For all I know there is a newer version or something even better out there. If anyone finds anything let me know and I'll install it.

    I don't think that page is looking at the right stats - it seems more like it's looking at OGR or something, rather than looking RC5-72.

    Guess I'll transition a few boxen over to RC5 - I think we ought to move Free-DC into the top 100....

    Bok, there is a link on the bottom of the pproxy stats to v8.1-alpha-14 of the stats generation software, but the latest on the authors homepage is v7.1.

    Presumably the link to v8.1-alpha-14 is because that is what version you are running. Maybe it is taking so long to generate the stats because it is an alpha release and isn't stable?

    I know it may be easier said than done, but you could give v7.1 a try and see what difference it makes.

  35. #35
    I got about 99 units coming your way today.

    Bok is not a nubie at running pproxy for dnet.
    The version you are alluding to does not work with the new OGRP2 stuff and is no longer supported by Kevin, the original author.
    There is nothing wrong with the pproxy stats.
    It only records what your computers have uploaded thru his pproxy server, that he sends to the rc5 folks.
    If you think you are doing more work than what his pproxy says, you can always check your stats at the offical dnet stats.

    With the new DIMES client it's a good idea to run both RC5-72 and DIMES.

    Looks like I got added to the proxy stats, and that some work is starting to show up. The last number I looked at seems a little more reasonable...

    With real-time stats available for some projects, it's easy to forget that the official stats for RC5-72 are only generated once-per-day.... :sleepy: :sleepy:

    i think he means because DIMES takes up virtually no resources and it is easy to use now. but i think you should still wait because the client still has many errors to be worked out
