    Wishlist

A few people now have asked me if they can contribute to the costs of running the server that the forum/stats is hosted on. I've always said no and continue to do that. Some of those have come back and asked if they can offer something else instead.

An amazon wishlist was mentioned and this got me thinking. As an avid Doctor Who fan (in fact where 'Bok' comes from) I've been meaning to upgrade my video library to DVD's at some point but have always found other things to do with my spare cash recently (dual xeons spring to mind!!).

So, I've done a small wishlist here

    http://www.amazon.com/gp/registry/re...=1AODYFZ05MJG0

Nobody should feel obliged in any shape, way or form. The box that the forum/stats are on I would be paying for anyway whether I hosted this site or not..

    I'm glad to see this!

Bok's really taken up a huge amount of slack for me since I've been tied up doing real life things. He & IB really deserve an enormous amount of credit for the time & energy they put into this place.

I'll be picking something out on the list for you, too.

    Thanks, Bok!

I'm thinking about participating in this.

Question: If something is bought, does Amazon update the wishlist by removing that item?

Edit: Never mind, didn't get a good first look at the site.

    Bloody Heck....
I didn`t realise how many Dr.WHO? disks there were.
I nearly copied a film off UK Gold over the weekend which I never knew existed but spent so much time getting the stupid DVBT box to work, it was half over before I got it to write to disk.
It was a film about the Master and summat to do with New Year Eve 1999 and the change to the Millenium. Quite whatchable.
We all owe Bok so much for his untiring efforts on the site.
If there`s ever anything you want put on disk from UK tv channels to upload to you Bok, just say the word.
Otherwise I`ll add something from the list as soon as I finish squireling funds out of the pocket money (or discouraging the wife spending on luxury items and alterations to the plans for the new house) to get hold of a 939 4400 Dual AMD which are now getting sold off (last few I believe) at less than half price. I`ve got the board, drives, server case etc., just need some good memory (4000 plus pref 4400 same as the cpu) and the cpu before they sell out.
Then your choice from Amazon will be my command.

    Cheers Shish,

I don't suppose you have Spender (w/Jimmy Nail) at all???

I've wanted that for some time, not sure if it's available yet at all.

May be available at the library
If so I`ll se what I can do, if not, I`m sure one of my sources will have it and I`ll drop it in the post.

Bok, is that list up-to-date? I'll take a second look after you confirm it's up-to-date, and try to get you something.

Is there a way to figure out when the list was last updated on the Amazon site? Other than the obvious,"Yeah, it's updated," I'm waiting for.

Vaios are to do with your createdaterank. i.e. how many you have < 5
Clanks are to do with how many projects you have actively run in the last 28 days
Maxwells are more difficult. this post explains them....

Not sure what you mean by createdaterank. Is it create date rank? Create what and <5 what?

I get the clanks bit; 31 projects in the last 28days ranks me 185th.

I cant open the SATI.US link as I dont use their forums.

    Thanks,

Yes, I mean the Create Date Rank. It's a count of how many of those where your rank is in the top 4.

Here is a cut and paste for the Maxwells. As I said it's the complicated one.

I call them "Meta Mega Milestones" AKA "Milestones based on Meta Milestones". Bok calls them Maxwells. Which tickles me...

Basically, it's a count of how often you have a Mega Milestone that is at least one half of the leader of that category. It came out of this thread. Which actually came out of a conversation where Mumps was happy he got a "Half Zombie" in one of the MM categories (got to half the number that zombie had).
