    Your spare time activities...

...so what to you guys do when you aren't doing DC catting or work/school?

You all know (or probably could find out) that I work with the Internet Book Database of Fiction in my spare time (with Brad, kiltannen, SuperE and a bunch of other people that the oldest members of the forum may recognize).

I also know that Dyy works on the new-fangled motorized bikes. (I prefer mine with foot power, not gas power).

So what do YOU do in your spare time?

    Kidding.

Most of my spare time is used for reading articles on Wikipedia and hanging out with my girlfriend in front of the idiot box!

Reading (offline, even), fixing my house, stonecarving, hand spinning and avoiding housecleaning (until it gets to the home repair stage).

hmmm spare time, haha unlike most of you I have tons of that.

Well im a college student that has class on Tuesdays and Thursdays only!! With that said you'd figure I'd have a job....but nope. So that leaves me with lots of free time....

I go to the gym and lift weights 5 days a week. I'm a gym rat... I play basketball/streetball a couple times a week. I box on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. On the weekends I'll play homerun derby with some friends.

Now non sports wise I like to drink. Usually 2-3 times a week and its usually weekends at partys or just chillin with friends. We like to go out and do all kinds of things.

I've got two kids. 10 and 7. Both girls. They are in softball right now (thankfully, I'm not coaching this year). They are also in dance and getting ready for a recital. It keeps me pretty busy.

I like to write...I do that on my blog, generally after they go to bed.

You take it where you can get it.

I'm laughing at the "restart stalled nodes" bit because I've been doin that too! Sometimes I don't know if its because I overclocked the thing or whether it just decided it needed a rest from Think, got a power surge or what! In any case if its red in the FADProgress its time to go hunt it down!

Besides DC? Messin with Linux is definitely my latest hobby. I setup some blades and learned about netbooting, now I'm building a TIVO-like device using a PVR150 capture card and the free MythTV software running on a Linux O/S. What a challenge LIRC has been.

    Hmm...7pm...its exercise time!

I'm not sure there is such a thing as spare time.

Forgot to mention my new favorite ride! 0-60 in 3 secs! Joker's Jinx

I can't afford to fly anymore so the next best thing is the simulator. I'm not an avid gamer but a 5 hour flight in the sim will kill a lot of time otherwise, I can be found tinkering in my garage. Woodworking is fun!

As magicfan241 already said, I spend a great deal of my free time trying to go fast on motorcycles:

I also spend time programming, wakeboarding & snowboarding (when the seasons allow for it), gaming (FPS on the PC mostly, though I've got an XBox & PS2 that I play occasionally), tinkering with design work (website & graphics), playing racquetball/tennis/golf, and occasionally even going to the local skatepark (where I'm nearly always the oldest guy around ).

Photography. It's also my work, but not the same. Work is portraits, products, restaurant & hotel advertising and the like. Hobby is trying to find the perfect photograph. I think it's in my camera and I just need to figure out how to get at it.

Kayaking. Sea touring kayak, not the white water type. I prefer tooling around between islands in the Gulf and little bays and occasionally sneaking up on, and scaring the hell out of, turtles.

PS. I don't go NEARLY as fast as Dyy!
