I haven't been able to find the Splenda diet Coke yet, but, while looking for it, I did find that diet RC uses Splenda. I didn't try it (I hate diet sodas, and don't think more of the non-diets), but my partner said it wasn't bad at all.

Well I DO like diet-cokes ( this is a general southern term meaning all diet drinks). I tried the splenda version just this morning and I didn't like it.

I drink way too much diet coke, so I'll give it a go. I can't stand Pepsi though

Yeah, me too...... go through at least a case of Diet Coke a week. Don't care for Diet Pepsi either. At least with diet coke, if I nod off in the chair for six or seven hours, there's still fizz in the can of diet coke, whereas diet pepsi is flat.

Actually at times, beer is cheaper than water.

I've seen then in several supermarket chains over here in the Bay Area where bottled water is more expensive than bottled beer. Crazy huh.

On the topic of this Splenda Coke, I prefer the "put the lime in the coke, you nut" diet coke.

As long as we're pimping our favorite drinks, there's nothing like tea (green, black, oolong, i like them all). very tasty, and very healthy. hot is best, but cold is good too.

and then theres coffee. a nasty habit, but unfortunately i've fallen to the dark side lately. accursed grad school, you'll be my downfall yet...

    Tea!

My new fav is Twinings Green with camomile. ("Fav" designation changes frequently.)

Teas are good. My homeroasted coffee is better.

But, on the rare occasions I drink soda, either Vernors or, when I can find it, Bawls, are my favourites.

Hmmm...guarana. Much nicer buzz than caffiene.

Had to check to make sure you're from the US. I've never heard of Vernors(my mother and grandmother have), Bawls, or gurarana(I might have to look into this one).

Vernors is a strong ginger ale (closer to Jamaican ginger beer, really) native to Detroit. The company is owned by Pepsi now, but it isn't available everywhere in the US. Still can't get it in Massachusetts, but it is available in Montana. If you love ginger, it is very much worth trying. It isn't caffinated, of course. The diet version is the most drinkable diet soda, IMHO.

Bawls you can't get here, but I've seen it in St. Louis, MO and in Halifax. Delicious stuff, comes in a gorgeous cobalt blue bottle.

There are also a number of guarana sodas from Brazil that are sometimes available. All I've had are worth trying, although I prefer Bawls.

Cmon seriously, prefering water over beer, is criminal

Basically, my favourites in order of greatness...

    1) Beer, can't quite beat a nice Heineken Export, Bit Burger or if out in town a Stella. (German beer obviously wins everytime but I unfortunately live in the UK)

    2) Coffee, evil but so good!

    3) Vimto (our American friends may not be aware of this divine pop, but if your from the Midlands you are in on the secret )

    4) See number 1.

    Agreed

Last thursday in an irish pub in Ft. Lauderdale I had a couple of pints of Guinness and a pint of Boddington's on draft which I don't get much. They also had Warsteiner on draft, but I didn't notice until it was time to leave

I also had Banger's & Mash made with real English bangers and HP sauce!!

Awesome - that HP factory does us proud

Used to live near it, little know fact, if you drive down the Aston Express way into or out of Birmingham, there is a pipe across one of the mini motorway bridges that pumps HP sauce between the two sauce factories - production to packaging

If only it dripped, you were in a convertible and had a Pukka pie in your hands....

    Pukka pies

I remember then fondly from my youth.
Had to spend quite a lot of the Summer holidays in Leicester with relatives.

I don't suppose they are still home made ?

Just from my german point of view:

There are far better german beers than Warsteiner and Bitburger!

But it is probably hard to get them in the US and the UK...

    Thor

... the Budweiser from Budvar is also good (way better than the american Budweiser)

    My favs

Fizzy crap is just crap, bar Irn Bru.

Tap water is cheap and good quality at home.

Milk straight out of the fridge especially full cream or Devon "Breakfast" milk.

Beer you can't beat a pint of Butcombe bitter or Hoegarden if we are going for lager.

I agree with Bok though on a good cold draft Guiness

Thanks, Paratima. Knew I could get it from Think Geek, but it is a tad expensive to ship soda. Besides, do you really want to see me after a pot of coffee and 12 Bawls?
