Yippee Only 53,000,000 to go
Speaking of EoN
I noticed since I started OGR My EoN output has dropped by 5X
Is the a way to beef up EoN or turn down OGR so they play nicer
Well if you look below at the Logs for both EoN And OGR
You will see that the more nodes that got changed from
Cosmo to OGR the out put of the Eon clients went down
With Cosmo and 1 EoN client on all nodes I get 65K a day
With OGR and 1 EoN client on all nodes I get 7K a day

Are there any switches in OGR or EoN that might help balance them ?
I would say that that shows that OGR better utilizes the CPU than Cosmology.
Edit your dnetc.ini file perhaps?
I was thinking you wanted all the OGR you can get right now.
[processor-usage]
priority=3
max-threads=-1
Change priority=2 and see what that does.
Change priority=1 and see what that does.
Change priority=0 and see what that does. (OGR would probably just stop working at this point, seeing another program using the processor)
Are you referring to single cores, dual cores, quad cores?
And Boinc is a lousy regulator of processor resources.
One of many reasons I don't like Boinc.
So to make OGR less aggressive I would change {{priority=2 }}as listed below in bold

Holy YoMomma, Lauren!
461,143 in EON yesterday!
Do ya think ya got 'er tuned up, yet?
HOME: A physical construct for keeping rain off your computers.
Ya but that is for 4 days work hahaha
Yes I set the priority of OGR to 1 instead of 3 to share the load better and it worked
Since EoN spends more time trying to get and send back work I does not take much from OGR output I think I lose about 40 to 50 K from OGR running at 1 priority and if EoN server stalls out OGR output will go up
As IB said running 1 client per core works well
Ahhhh - because of the EON web server screw-up!
And here I thought you were closing in on weltest.
HOME: A physical construct for keeping rain off your computers.
If I went to full power and just on EoN it might be a close race
Right now I have close to 150 clients running along side OGR (1 per core) and I am doing a little over 1/2 his output
At full power I could bump that to 450 to 600 clients, But I am not sure there memory buffers could take it
You'd probably suck their server right out throught the wires!
Come to think of it, that would be moderately entertaining!
HOME: A physical construct for keeping rain off your computers.
Well that tweber is really Grilling up the W/U's I am sure you will hardly miss my meager output
But perhaps I should wait and see if EON can keep up at this pace Still getting a lot of ZZZZZZ's at times
OK, Lauren, I offered up a prayer to the Gods of Eon.
We'll just have to see how it goes on Wednesday.
HOME: A physical construct for keeping rain off your computers.
Well lets see what 300 Ghz will do
I will start pointing more power to Eon after work tomorrow
So what do you think will I case slowdowns or will EoN be able coup
I only have 12 more days till my shutdown When I com Back I will have more Room
Might be able to boost my power to 400 Ghz then
Well we finally out produced Ars in OGR yesterday
Just as soon as you are done with your last boxen, the Eon Servers will
ZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
It was never able to be run as a primary project and it always worked best as a secondary one.
You set OGR to 1 instead of 3, if you didn't increase the amount of clients, then when you stop OGR, I don't think Eon will give you much more output...
But hey, it's all your FUN, so have at it !!!
OK OK I don't want to brake anything and I know WE are on a mission over in OGR
So I will just fire up a few more Nodes and just add 1 more client per node
That should be around 250 EoN clients running along side 150 OGR clients
That should give good power to both
How does that sound IB
Dam I just looked and my out put is the same as HD20 whole teams output
1 1 weltest --------81,460 -----2,262
2 9 LAURENU2------ 68,468 -----2,122
Name ---------------Today-- Last Update
1 3 Free-DC ---------85,842 ----2,687
2 1 Team HD20 ------68,713---- 2,017
3 14 Team White Hot 48,524 ----1,825
4 2 Ars Lasagna -----42,448 ----1,456
Looking at the stats, you've picked up 15K on rcoulter in the last five or so hours. You should become Free-DC's #1 member by the end of the day.
Amazing power
OK got all the fired up Should be the top out put-er by Morning
Sorry rcoulter
As of 07:00 EDT Wednesday.
Weltest --- 21,162
Laurenu2 -- 24,644
It CAN be done! Zowie!
HOME: A physical construct for keeping rain off your computers.
Carlos, I apologize. Didn't mean to come down so hard.
However, it was unreasonable to state that this achievement is "easy", when it most demonstrably is not. That diminishes the effort, not to mention the monumental investment, put out by Lauren to build and maintain his pharm.
Let's be cool and think before we post. Difficult as that may be for most of us! I'll try if you will.
HOME: A physical construct for keeping rain off your computers.
So you are giving me reason. I said I had 52 instances on one quad, this mean it's an eOn dedicated machine, no second project in parallel. If I had 6 I would run 312 instances so matching your 3 instances on each of 100 machines.
No one is doing that because of the bandwidth and the delays between server/clients. I can guarantee that it's easy to match Welltest with only a few machines.
Why don't you try something I already told to you to do, run 13 instances per core?
Are you nuts? Some kind of mental disorder? Grow up..
As I said before and you know Eon has it starts and Stops , Making a EoN dedicated machine seems like it might be at Idle at timesWhy don't you try something I already told to you to do, run 13 instances per core?
I only have 2 clients per core running
And I still have OGR running when EoN stalls out
I feel Doing this will make maximum use of any free cycles that I may have
And as you can see I am pumping out massive output in both OGR and EoN
I am just pumping as fast as I can before my shutdown
Do you own a quad-core? Try on it running 52 eOn instances and then look at your output. When you have a bunch of instances the idle time is minimized.
Edit: with a dedicated quad-core with eOn you can push your processor up to 3.0GHz because the calculations are not CPU intensive, temps get lower.
Yes I run about 140Ghz of Q6600Do you own a quad-core?
And about 140 Ghz of X2's
And 82 Ghz of XP2400+
OK em99010pepe to make you Happy I will do as you ask on 1 Q when I restart my network
Thanks. You have 12 days until shutdown, when do you think you will return? I think I have 10 days of reserved work on all my cores but then I intend to return to eOn. We should schedule a hunt for second place (team run).
Those 2400+ are from the Find-A-Drug days...lol
Carlos
Pay no attention, Lauren.
He's still young and has to prove that he's smarter than just about everyone.
HOME: A physical construct for keeping rain off your computers.
I am guessing the renovation and rewiring of the network will be done by 7/1/08
And even before that as well FAD was not my first DC project I go way back even before UD
It is OK Paratima
em99010pepe is a OK Guy and helps out in the ways he knows best
And I am sure he is right about his thoughts on the 13 clients per core.
It is All Relative To ones own point of view
The only thing that Matters is that we produce results for the World and this Team
