    Bok's 100K thread

Wow, it took a long time in Enigma@Home but I finally made 100K... as long as they update their stats before midnight it should be reflected overnight..

    Most 100K's

I see Zombie67 is close to 50 though.. Wow!!!!!

Malaria Test and geneticlife@home are next up..

  2. #2
He has one awesome record. I didn't even know there were that many BOINC projects.

    Hi, Bok. Great stats.

I'm getting close on Malaria Test Project. Of course zombie67 wrapped that one up some time ago.... Been a bit of a slog for me, have 18000 in pending state still.

His overall page is pretty cool. Quite a spread of points, it shows up with his Country Rank overall as only 48..

/aside... I must write the page displaying overall scores within country and link it here...

Do you have any more you can do?

I still have quite a few to push up there.. Almeregrid I guess you are looking at.. I tried the test version, can't get my password for the main one Disk was thrashing like crazy though, so I suspended it

Yeah, only Almeregrid left to go, that still has work. And yes, those tasks take about 5 minutes to run, but that is CPU time. Wall clock time is many times longer...probably due to the disk thrashing.

So now I am working on making more 250k, 500k, and 1Mk.

This doesn't seem to be taking you long at all Bok. Impressive!

What's next when you're done? 250k? Or are you gonna hit one project hard?

Thanks! I have the good luck of getting 100k in some projects that are no longer available. Plus I started this goal (100k in every project) a couple years ago. So I've had a long time to work on it.

I wonder how many people are actively going after 100K's as one of their primary goals ??

That would be an interesting stat.. I think I'm the only one on Free-DC. PoorBoy definitely is. zombie67 and I think KevinT does for Seti-USA. Outlnder and a few of the Ars people are going for it too.. I've seen it mentioned elsewhere by a few others on.

Maybe I could enhance it somewhat.

Looks like I might get my SIMAP 100k in the current run of wu's. Done 27K in less than 2 days and I think I've still got quite a lot cached (not at home to check )

My gpugrid scores are looking good... should be 250K in a few days, 2 weeks to 500K !

Hi BOK, ever since BOINC started like Zombie67 I've always tried to get 100,000 Credits @ a Project, I still have 5-7 Projects that I can easily put over that mark when & if I can get the work so I'm in the Hunt yet.

Any thing over that I'm not worried about and I'll let the guys with the really Huge Farms go after those marks. My Farm is to small, it's efficient and fast but not enough Box's to really compete for the Higher Marks.

Yeah, that's the trick. When there is no work, you can't work on the goal, like with VP or BRaTS.

    SIMAP - 100K - Done
    MindModelling@Home 100K - Done

That'll make 36 for me when it updates tonight...

Get's harder now.. still working on uFluids which is slow going as it's windows only and it's poor when running more than 2 instances on a quad so I'm limited to 6 dualcores only..

ClimatePrediction is ongoing in the background and I've been running Ibercivis somewhat.. lots of errors on that one.

Oh and I hit 250K on GPUGrid pretty quickly, should get to 500K before Xmas. I need to rename that one in the stats..

I added a Most 10k section this week. Nice score on that one AMDave

I see you're working on RALPH. That's a tough one, work is not available that much, so you have to really jam on it when you get the chance.

yup. I was surprised today with a bunch of work downloaded. Still got quite a bit in the caches.

So, what would you say was the Worst one to get? I'd have to say MindModelling pissed me off the most. Those tiny little wu's play havoc with BoincView....! Though I'll be happy to finally get ufluids done.. and I suppose I'll get back to Sztaki at some point even though I lost close to 60K in pending there recently

For RALPH (and rosetta), you can set the run time of the WUs up to 24 hours. So set that to the max, that way you will get the most value for each scarce WU. However, the first time you do this, be prepared for it downloading WAY more than you can return in time. BOINC will need to learn the new run times.

The most aggravating is probably SZTAKI, I guess. Due to the long run times, and the long times to get wingmen to report. uFluids is frustrating too, because the more tasks you run at once, the slower they go, exponentially. So if you have a quad, or way worse, an 8-way, you are screwed. You have to use a small resource with another project(s).

AlmereGrid also gives CRAP credits, as does FreeHAL. So they take FOREVER.

    It's only for BOINC projects....

has to be where projects are <comparable> in points which BOINC at least tries to do..and for the main part does so across projects.

    BOK,

On your top lists, is it possible to make the number of projects a link.

    For expample.

When I check the top users with the most #1's - the number of #1 spots to the right of the page. Can this be a link to what those projects are?

When I check mine it shows 5 #1 positions. How difficult would it be so I can click on the "5" to show what those projects that I hold #1 position in?

Awesome job on the web site.. I hardly use any other site anymore!

    Thanks,

    hmm, perhaps..

so in your example what would you expect to see on a linked page?

Perhaps (and I'm thinking off the top of my head ) just a clone of your CPID page limited by those projects where you have #1 ?

That's doable..I'd just have to add a new parameter.

So, if you mostly just use the stats What is missing... we always want feedback

    Bok

p.s. your CPID page is one I look at often...

Here's a suggestion. You have an awesome set of stats, with the "most X". How about a signature graphic based on that?

    Category..........Number.....Rank
    Most 100,000....3..............4th
    Most 250,000....1..............37th
    etc...
