Are you having any problems with the machines running this ? It killed one of my boxen due to the high amount of disk writing, which is why I stopped it..probably just a bad drive though. Ramdisks would likely help a lot..
Too hot to run too much right now and I shut down a number of machines anyway..
All mine are headless so hard to say about lots of disk writes
Ya Hot here Topping 78% right now And going to push mid 90% over the weekend
So I have to get them when I can till summer fades
We are plowing right along we are now at 30th
Well I Invite one and all to a Frog leg BBQ this weekend
Next to fall are the PC Perspective Killer Frogs
And you all know how good Killer Frogs Legs taste in my Killer Frogs Leg BBQ sauce
No work available
Like an ol` 8086, slow but serviceable.
One advantage of old age...nobody can tell you how much cake you can eat
Lots of work I have done 50,000 points just since this morning
Frog legs for everyone
I got 2 and finished them but project has pooped. Looks like Lauren killed another project's servers.

Just leave it on Good thing come to those who wait
I started in late yesterday But I still made 78.000 points
Whenever the server stalls VTU takes up the slack
It is strange to have 29 WU's running at one time within BOINC
And all 25 FreeHAL and 4 VTU running up time
Wow, I got another unit. It's that Lauren guy monopolising the servers again and trying to beat them into submission
I always run more than one bonk project and WCG is still getting plenty of efforts.

Then you will get 25 at one download
Free-DC Topped the 1 Mil Mark
Tah Lauren, I'll try that. Seems the normal bonk method of getting x days of work doesn't work.

No not a normal BOINC project
1 in 1 out
or 25 in and 25 out
and you tread time along other BOINC projects
Well it seems I don't have enough Power to keep our team from Sinking in the rankings
But Ie Captain I,m giving you all she's got :whip
looks like you did it !
Congrats
It wasn't a full reset per se, just a reset to a known valid state. The project got buggy there for a couple days, and was granting RIDICULOUS credit that people didn't earn. I lost ~97k. Some of that was valid credit, but most wasn't. One dude lost ~11M, most of which (~10.8M) came on a single day (and we know that can't happen).
Now the limits are a separate point of contention...
Woot
I Am Taking Over 1st place
Sorry I did not have enough power
to Pull the team up as fast as I

19 primes found. The largest: 1351*2^617684+1 (185945 digits)
I Topped 30 Mil
Bok Why do I have more points then Free-dc does
If you add up all the member points it top's 36 Mil
But it only shows 29 Mil
we should be topping Ars Technica but were not
posted at there website
Confiscation of our servers
In recent days, apparently carried out on my home computer through a trojan various hacker attacks. According to current information, the server FreeHAL the project were not affected, but these were also the end of March seized by the police and possibly be used as evidence.
The possibility of a compromise of the BOINC server can be excluded since no unauthorized access is to be the compiler or the secret key. The aim of the attacks apparently was blackmailing several people from my private life, a school and an institution for the publication of private information of individuals and the threat to sabotage online stores.
Unfortunately we have yet no precise information about the nature and scope of the investigation, therefore no conclusion can yet be made as to when a controlled operation is again possible. We try to explain this matter as quickly as possible.
For more information please send an e-mail to freehal@gmx.de. Responsible for the investigation, the police headquarters and the central Hesse Heidelberg Police Department or the respective prosecutors' offices.
We are delighted of course any donations, both financial as well as in the form of hardware, as it currently does not look like that we get the data and the hardware in the foreseeable future.
Yes, i saw that too, not sure how much faith I would put into it as it seems he posts something extraordinary like this fairly often. It doesn't really make too much sense at all.
Seems to be some signs of life today. Not working properly yet, but looks like it's coming back.
Cheers,
Al.

And before they wend down I was in a Battle with a win39 kido virus on every PC working Freehal
Make sure your AV def. are up to date if you want to work or go to there Web site
I'm not seeing any problems with their website or WUs (the few that I've gotten so far anyway).
MWB isn't warning me about the site, and it's usually *very* fussy about what it'll let me look at
But then again it might be Adblock blocking something naughty. Or maybe my firewall.
Just visited the homepage again and all I see is a bunch of blocked port scans from some noob on a US SDL block. Pretty sure it's unrelated.
Cheers,
Al.

Are you using linux ?
Just tried this using firefox 9.0 and Avast! not seeing any blocking but
I get sent to https://www.freehal.net/freehal_at_home/ not http://www.freehal.net/freehal_at_home/
Semi-retired from Free-DC...
I have some time to help.....
I need a new laptop, but who needs a laptop when you have a phone...
Now to remember my old computer specs..
Puhleez, I do have some standards
No, using XP on the main desktop machine. I have the paid-for MWB running at the moment (I don't generally use any AV software, but I was trying this one out for the wife's business).
Out of curiosity I ran a full MWB scan, and a bunch of rootkit tools, anti-spyware stuff, free AV stuff, and pretty much anything else I had around. Nothing came up with anything. Dunno. Like I say, SPI firewall in the router, adblocking etc might be stopping any naughtiness.
Only thought that occurs to me is the site security cert being self-signed and pointing to the 'wrong' URL or something. Firefox kept blocking me for a while but I just added an exception. Maybe something to do with what @gopher_yarrowzoo mentioned?
Cheers,
Al.
