in the near future I'll shut down my quad-core-cruncher for a few weeks.
our office is moving and since I'm not always in my office and more at the customer sites, I need to shutdown things a bit earlier to be moved to the new location within the company.
so there is a chance for you, alpha, get a bit closer to me

*looks at the stats* Hmm... I might need a little more time than that. :P

I'd better fire up the emergency boxen! I've even re-requested to have my two accounts merged which should virtually double my current total.

Yum, I've been pulling a lot of small stubs for the past few days. Most around 5-10 Gnodes. Love it!

Meanwhile, we're around 26 million Gnodes away from #8.

Also, I'll be posting a new version of pppla soon with some exciting new features.

alpha, one very exciting feature would be reading compressed logfiles
is that one also on your list?

Nope, I didn't realise anybody wanted that. What compression format are you using? Presumably gzip and/or tar would be popular options. I can see the code for this getting messy though, maybe I can hack something together just for you. Perhaps the new features aren't that exciting after all. :P

Back on topic, I'm still chugging through the small stubs today. It's pushing my overall average stub size way down but I still haven't beaten my "most stubs" stat from Valentine's day last year (231). Working on it though!

my logcompressor.sh has a line with "gzip $1" in it - result is a i.e. "pproxyogrng20110322.log.gz" file... but was just a suggestion to implement that one

Nope, I took my (puny) main machine off OGR when the new Folding@home 7 open beta started. I'll be hunting you at a rate of 1.5T per day though!

    BIG NEWS, PLEASE READ: http://blogs.distributed.net/2011/04/11/15/12/mikereed/

So basically the sooner you update your clients, the better. But you should certainly do it before the second pass of stubspace 4 begins.

What they failed to mention is that we will have to do a third pass of stubspaces 1-3 (~6.5 million stubs), so the project has just been lengthened.

    Hi
I tried the new .518 [x86/Stream] on my old Linux box but that didn't work.
The [x86/ELF/uclibc] is still the older one .517 dated 2010-06-28

Guess I stick to the old Linux client until it's updated

OK, switched to the prerelease [x86/ELF/uclibc] v2.9110.519, seem to work

Sorry to spam you guys a little, but I finally got around to updating pppla with a pretty massive haul of new features. The link is here. Please give it a try if you run a pproxy!

To keep this on topic, we did eventually secure position #7 and we are still plodding along at a reasonable pace. Looks like we lost a bit of steam, but there is still plenty of time left.

I'm still here, just shifted a majority of my minions to folding@home. I have another 25 or so 8 core systems to add in the coming month.
I'm having fun!!! I'm just not sure if it's net fun or gross fun.
