Research that the sun will enter the active period of second active period
Our sun since the end of 2011 released a series of flares and ejecta from other remains surprisingly quiet. But the researchers say the calm, probably between two peak trough, and the two peak at 11 years together form the solar activity cycle "active period". The United States NASA Goddard space flight center solar physicist Alex - Yang said: "if you look back in history, before many of the solar cycle are not only a peak and a maximum value, in fact is two." He is in the United States of America's space agency called a "maximum solar storm warning: comments make effect" of the solar system's network radio.
At the end of 2011, there was a huge X level (highest level) of solar flares, this picture is the United States NASA's Solar Dynamics Observatory photographed the far ultraviolet.
Yang added: "that we think will happen, because we have reached a peak, but we believe that solar activity will eventually recover and will reach another peak, forming a Shuangfeng solar active period. Before gaining recognition in the speech in Shuangfeng, many researchers have estimated the current cycle (twenty-fourth cycles) active period will come in May. Scientists claim that, considering the sun is so quiet, the second peak is likely to be delayed, but there may be delayed to 2014.
However, though the sun was very calm now, but that doesn't mean it is to lose one's vitality. In fact, our sun a superheated plasma mass erupted in March 15th, called a coronal mass ejection (CME). The coronal mass ejections two days across the earth, brings did not have serious implications for the moderate geomagnetic storm. Angle hit the earth's powerful CMEs can trigger geomagnetic storms serious, temporarily disrupt power grids, GPS signal and radio communication. But the effects of coronal mass ejections are not all negative, they can also increase the aurora of earth, give the whole world sky watchers a visual feast.
