    I'm no expert on this so correct me if I'm wrong, but the JRE includes a full JVM. Do you mean the fact that Microsoft doesn't publish an own JVM any more? That has never been an official JVM.

    I've (almost) never had any problems with the JRE from http://java.sun.com/
