    New Wiki is operational

    Hello all,

The new Wiki is up and running at http://wiki.seventeenorbust.com - if you need to access the old one it's at http://wiki.seventeenorbust.com/old

Post any comments or anything about it in this thread.

I am perhaps too stupid, but I was not able to create new articles.

I think it would be good to start to write some instruction articles, solvig problems that show up in the forum. On the long run we are saving work if we can just refer to the wiki.
On the other hand, perhaps we would loose something of the human component?
    I don't know.

Anyway, I think it would be a good idea to update this wiki a little bit (as it is now, it is useless), I am willing to invest some hours or days, but I need somebody who helps me cause I don't have the heart to take all the responsability.
I am going to think about necessary new articles, I'll post them later today.

There seem to me to be articles, too, that are not linked; a site with a list of all existing articles would be helpfull perhaps (if it doesn't exist yet).

vjs, you seemed to be willing a week ago or so to make instructions for the software, I think the wiki would be the right place (I said that already).

    See you...H.

Ok, here is the frame how I see it (new articles still to create are written in capital letters):

In the Seventeenorbust article, there is a paragraph, explaining briefly that we are doing PRP, SIEVING and FACTORING.

These three get proper articles, explaining what they are good for, with links to (respectively):
PRP HOWTO(Win, Linux, etc., link to SOFTWARE)
PRP MATH(How does it work, etc, link to PROTHTHEOREM)

    SIEVING HOWTO etc.
    .
    .
    .

SOFTWARE contains links, and little text.

Then we need a small article saying that ECM is slower than P-1.
An article on the good old SIERPINSKY would be nice, too. (eventually link to the real wikipedia)

A COMPARISION OF PRP, SIEVING AND FACTORING would be useful, too.

On the wiki article, I would like a link to an ALLARTICLE article, which is only an index. It's good to know what we have already. (Should not be so long)
That's it for the moment; if anybody tells me how to create articles or creates them, I'll start writing a bit.
    H.

Once you're logged in, to create a new article linked from a page do an edit and add in [[ArticleName]] . Then save it and you can click on ArticleName on the page and add the article text.

I really would like to use the wiki for solving problems/etc.

Also, if you go to Special Pages under the toolbox, there is a link to All articles on the wiki.

well, thats the problem. we've been trying to get a new logo.. but dave, nor louie, nor i are good at graphics. So, until we get a new one it'll probably just have that default one =P

so yeah, if anyone is good at logos.......

Yes, I suck at graphics. Samir from Office Space would describe my logo ideas as "this is horrible, this idea" and Peter as "the worse idea I've ever heard, Tom."

If anyone out there is or is dating a graphic artist... please, please, puleeeze throw us a bone ;-)

I'm getting big errors when trying to edit any page... (example, long load time)

Also, there is usually no need to remove spaces from page names, so you don't need to use [[DistributedComputing]] instead of [[Distributed Computing]]. I was going to move those pages to the 'proper' page names.

I brought it down for a bit to try to fix it. It seems to be working now.
