In theory it does. Temperatures can cause wierd things to happen. I've had to put my 4890s on collatz due to this problem. If I leave them on Milkyway they get VPU errors after a couple of hours. Try pointing it at Collatz to see if it will work there. Try installing just the driver without the CCC. Also Milkyway has been having some problems lately.

You can also try DNETC as it's ATI app seems to be working well for most people..
Bok
The 4870's are working fine here this is a new card The errors happen at 1sec after starting
No heat here yet 50% temp here
ANY one else useing a 5850 ?
Try downloading from ATI's site for latest drivers (10.3) as some manufacturers sites not getting updated drivers on very fast. I'm running Folding@Home on my gpu. A bit hot but not too bad in cool English climate. I did put a better heatsink on as well cos none of the cards, especially cheaper version company's, like getting too hot.
Like an ol` 8086, slow but serviceable.
One advantage of old age...nobody can tell you how much cake you can eat
Well it seems all the 58XX card put out BAD WU's in MilkYway
Oh well I guess it will work somewhere Else
Always the same with a new card and DC prog not updated to use it.
