    OK OK dumb A$$ is back again

    I bought a visiontek 5850

    I got all the latest drivers It downloads WU;s But all I get are comp ERRORS
    Does this vid card not work here

    In theory it does. Temperatures can cause wierd things to happen. I've had to put my 4890s on collatz due to this problem. If I leave them on Milkyway they get VPU errors after a couple of hours. Try pointing it at Collatz to see if it will work there. Try installing just the driver without the CCC. Also Milkyway has been having some problems lately.

    You can also try DNETC as it's ATI app seems to be working well for most people..

    The 4870's are working fine here this is a new card The errors happen at 1sec after starting
    No heat here yet 50% temp here
    ANY one else useing a 5850 ?

    Try downloading from ATI's site for latest drivers (10.3) as some manufacturers sites not getting updated drivers on very fast. I'm running Folding@Home on my gpu. A bit hot but not too bad in cool English climate. I did put a better heatsink on as well cos none of the cards, especially cheaper version company's, like getting too hot.
    Like an ol` 8086, slow but serviceable.

    Well it seems all the 58XX card put out BAD WU's in MilkYway
    Oh well I guess it will work somewhere Else

    Always the same with a new card and DC prog not updated to use it.
    Like an ol` 8086, slow but serviceable.

    It's not just the 58xx cards that are having problems. Take a look here to read about what's been going on. It could be that this was part of the problem with my 4890s. I'll try again on thursday to get them running again.
